POW Misinformation or Mistake?, by slowmo on Dec 10, 2008 21:44:15 GMT 1, Didnt read the statement that well earlier. Seems obvious now that people thought they would just buy more and put the same email address, 'so many of you were very generous'. I'm guessing a fair few email addresses popped up more than 20 times.

POW Misinformation or Mistake?, by neale on Dec 10, 2008 21:47:44 GMT 1, I think pow do a good job, £25,000 is a great sum to raise in 2 days, I was lucky enough to get a Very Little Helps & a lovemaker which was great, but even if I hadnt won anything I would have been happy that I,d taken part and helped someone see again. Lets all give pow a break, and thank god that when our prints arrive we can see and enjoy them, many are not so lucky

POW Misinformation or Mistake?, by brun on Dec 10, 2008 22:00:18 GMT 1, i wont be buying the micalleff so something for someone else but i will let it go back to the lottery draw it seems fairer to me .........the rules stated 20 tickets and only one chance of winning yet i have been told by POW that i can buy banksy and micallef , so did that mean it was 20 tickets per draw as the draw for micalleff and bansky seem not the same draw ?
and i swear my email is on no more than 20 tickets (i think only 15) so somewhere they have messed up ........

Blimey, well done fella, tho I thought you 'could only win once' according to the signs....
I've won bugger all (ever) but congrats to the people who did, they had pretty much the same chance as everyone else and it was in a good cause - can't recall the member who mentioned that we who are sighted should be thankful for that and I guess that the most valid post that anyone's ever made on this forum.

POW Misinformation or Mistake?, by slowmo on Dec 10, 2008 22:28:14 GMT 1, I once had a truly awful evening on board a boat in Cyprus, advertised as a boat party with music food and drink, it was terrible, music was a small portable stereo, drink ran out early and the food, well it looked like it was left over from last night.
There was a lottery that came with your ticket, star prize was another night on the Party boat. Guess who won it? Used my lottery luck up there and then, had I known, I would have asked to be excluded.

POW Misinformation or Mistake?, by Joe J on Dec 10, 2008 22:54:27 GMT 1, I think POW choose Sight Savers as a charity because they were taking the piss out of the people who only see the price tag and don't see the art.
To quote BONGO who once said; "Don't forget the art behind the price tag"

sounds right and fair. i contemplated the micallef print, knew i couldnt afford it however much i liked it, liked the banksy and at a lower price could afford to get it. i imagine that was one of the attractions of the banksy raffle. had i won a micallef, it wouldve gone back into the trucker's hat.
