OK, I thought I'd share this email I got from Hera of Herakut. A really interesting story behind the Sell Skin Image. It's uneditied and I've attached a picture of the original.

""hi frankie, we painted sellskin in athens, on a roof top of a "graffiti-friend´s" house. it was part of a show called "never ending story" at the Goethe Institute Athens along with four more Herakut pieces. All those pieces were created within the three days we
spend on that roof, so they were all inspired by the color range of athen´s skylind in the middle of summer. the way we painted the character (with flesh "fill-in" but brush-stroke outline) is something I created a while ago, where I took photos of myself (my skin) and chose a new outline to my body. the title comments "sex sells" saying "girl, sell skin". athens seemed the right place to do that. we were painting illegally on the streets one day (middle of the day at a very busy place) and all cars that passed us were honking and men were yelling out something Greek. but there weren´t saying: "stop painting - that´s illegal!" they were saying "nice bikini top." (as i was showing a lot of skin, which totally attracted their attention from me painting their wall.)

Thanks for that Frankie, I agree with Romanywg - it's always nice to know the background to a piece, just makes it that much more interesting. I love the image...these guys are just great and I think they'll only get better!

Only a couple of days Stuey, (then it took about a week to get it out of the packaging, i now have enough bubblewrap to insulate my loft!, still, better safe than sorry eh!)

I think only the original work for these guys works, prints do no justice at all...IMO

Have you seen the prints in the flesh?

It's very hard to get across the level of detail on the prints. This print and TLSG lithos are both excellent. Of course an original would be better but these prints are fantastic in the flesh.

Thanks for your kind words Pezlow. Herakut personally love this image and were very pleased with the results. It has about 4 pulls of varnish also which really punches out the colour.
