I will put it back on for you because I feel pretty childish and never really neg people.

Im going to +1 you for being honest, but its a forum.

I think it was about 3-4 weeks ago and that went for around £400 if i remember. I think the people that intended to sell them have done so by now.

I'm not saying he is a one-trick pony but do you think he is maybe a bit one-dimensional?
I know the argument about where artists get their influences is a difficult one, as very rarely can an artist be classed as truly original but I don't see much originality in Dface's work at all.
Also, on a personal level, I don't see much I really like. Call me boring but I like to have art on my walls that in some way attracts, Dface's stuff mostly just repels me. The pop tarts for example are just downright ugly.

FOR D*FACE FANS..., by sham69 on Sept 10, 2007 10:45:24 GMT 1, One thing he definitely is not is one dimensional. Granted his dog stuff leaves me cold, but his newer stuff continues to improve. Technically, Cli Che and Death and Glory are fantastically well executed. While Pop Tarts is a bit backward looking, I think he will continue to amaze. Once he leaves his signature stuff behind and his tendency to keep putting out the images of past icons with decomposing flesh he'll really fly. His work encompasses street works, installations, mixed media, metal, prints, canvases you name it. And he's prolific. His multiples simply push the boundaries of printmaking like no one else. Fantastic stock, spot UV, gold leaf, you name it. I for one think there's much more to come.

FOR D*FACE FANS..., by pezlow on Sept 10, 2007 10:53:11 GMT 1, Fair enough Sham. I agree with you about the multiples, Cli-Che is a stunning bit of printing. But I suspect this is more to do with BRP than with Dface. Death and Glory was a very well made etching but I don't really think it was pushing the boundaries. Etching has been around for many hundreds of years and you can see plenty of good examples of brilliant technical etches at most contemporary art fairs.
But my issue is really with the originality. I would really like to see Dface doing something truly original. Maybe he has done it already and I just haven't seen it because I will be the first to admit that I don't follow his work that closely.

FOR D*FACE FANS..., by sausageboonwee on Sept 10, 2007 19:59:18 GMT 1, I think Pop Tart is ugly. I think the DSTQ is not only a Dface classic but a POW classic. Very simple, very effective. Rotting people on my walls would upset my kids. Regarding Beejoir hype, I think people genuinely like his art and he is consistent in his ideas and execution.
