The W is missing because... The Latin Alphabet is the starting point for all graffit "Writers", it's the foundation of all Graffiti and all which that encompasses. The letter W wasn't added to the alphabet until the middle ages, (to represent sounds from the Germanic languages which did not exist as independent phonemes in the Romance languages).
All graffiti artists know this
By leaving it out, Eine (German word), shows what a clever chap he is

But I also think the main reason is that adding the W would mean that there wouldn't be the same number of letters in every row and that would f**k up the composition completely.

It would look more similar to two V's stuck together. Of course he did if for composition, the Latin explanation is a convenient excuse.

EINE โข Elton Prints, by Strange Al on Aug 8, 2007 12:15:48 GMT 1, As I posted last time this was discussed, I think Nu's spinning folks a bit of a yarn with his Latin reasoning. The letters "J" and "U" were not added to the Latin alphabet until after the renaissance, i.e., well after the "W" had been included. Both the "J" and the "U" are in Eine's pieces.

Yeah but isn't the point that they spelled writer without a 'w'. So in the old days a graffiti writer didn't need a 'w'. Thats the point, I think.

Fin - I'm not denying your theory, which is obviously spot on, just saying the latin argument proposed by Nu doesn't hold true.

Thats cool jjoschi but all I've done is interpretted Nu's explanation, if you don't focus on the introduction of the 'w' as being important information he gave but just concentrate on the lack of the need of it way back when to make graffiti art or call someone a 'writer' then Nu's interpretation makes sense. Although Nu's a bit of a donkey and you can't really ever trust what he says.
