ADAM NEATE - 1,000 Print Give Away, by spirit on Nov 14, 2008 14:20:51 GMT 1, Can anyone suggest any tips of where to search westside? I live in Acton. Just looking for a few suggestions, not insider info. I can't really think of many obvious locations to check out in the west - all the street art places I know are east. feel free to pm me. thanks. chiswick roundabout? probably the most famous place in Ealing?
Indeed. Thanks for that, it's only 5 mins away from me.

ADAM NEATE - 1,000 Print Give Away, by Ruggs on Nov 14, 2008 14:22:26 GMT 1, The haystack seems to be getting larger with each post. I've got a better chance of seeing the Queen and Prince Phillip cycling around London on a tandem... with Charles and Camilla on another one not far behind!

ADAM NEATE - 1,000 Print Give Away, by ratboy on Nov 14, 2008 14:29:53 GMT 1,
Extracts from BBC Suffolk interview:
Did he wait to see who picked up the work he left?
"Not at the time in Ipswich. I'd always walk away whilst leaving paintings but there'd be occassions where people would come up to me in pubs and stuff and say 'ah, you're the guy who does the paintings' or I'd always meet someone who knew someone who had one of the paintings I'd left out which was quite funny.
"When I moved to London I started doing it in East London predominately because I lived in that area. Once people realised I was doing it the people who knew in that area knew what to look for and to collect them.
"To do a whole London show I thought it would be nicer to give people a fair chance by letting people know beforehand I was going to do it. I don't know if it's going to be a mad rush. It's a big old city but the thousand paintings will soon get swallowed up."
Asked about the role of Flickr and similar sites in documenting art on the streets:
"I'm not so worried. The only reason I thought to tell people about the fact that I was doing it is because otherwise I would have left 1000 round london and nobody would ever have known, so the whole thing would never of existed.
"I did that for years by myself really. I've left over 6000 pieces but there's no proof they really existed as such apart from me doing them. If people find them on the streets and take a photo of them it's a nice thing I guess, but I'm not too worried about the end result."
Thoughts on fakes of his work and whether he really can remember every painting he's ever done:
"I get shown ones which I don't remember doing but I look at it and can tell if it was me or not who did it, if that makes sense. Just by the line of the paint brush or the colours I've used, or how I do the signature.
"If somebody tries to copy the signature chances are they don't do it right and I can tell. It's quite funny that people want to forge work considering it was free in the first place. That's an interesting concept in itself."

ADAM NEATE - 1,000 Print Give Away, by thetongue on Nov 14, 2008 16:05:00 GMT 1, Getting excited now! Got a route planned then back home!
I reckon it's more likely that you'll either find none or two+ than one. They'll either be well hidden or if you find one, another will be close by...
Looking forward to people's stories tomorrow!

ADAM NEATE - 1,000 Print Give Away, by onemandown72 on Nov 14, 2008 16:39:03 GMT 1, Dusk as by Wikipeidia
Dusk refers to the period of time following sunset. Although commonly confused with twilight, dusk is the time frame that occurs either before or after a twilight - when the sky is still generally bright and blue, but there is no sun to accompany it.
Sunset today: 16.12, is there less than an hour to go???

ADAM NEATE - 1,000 Print Give Away, by edcase on Nov 14, 2008 16:47:38 GMT 1, Some of you guys are just so literal about this whole dusk to dawn thing!!!
Relax, if they started at 4 p.m. it would all be over by tea time, which is not what they are trying to achieve!!!
Feel free to start looking now by all means, don't take my word for it*
*unless you're sensible
