This was mentioned very briefly in another post, but I'm seeing the similarities between Neate & Picasso more & more. I went down to his show again today & I could see it everywhere - especially in the magnificent self portraits!
Anybody else noticed this connection?

Adam might have established himself by putting his work onto the streets but his method of working really reminds me of a combination of fine art styles; the found objects and associated social commentry of Robert Rauschenbergs work with the distorted figurative elements, energy and painterly qualities demonstrated by Francis Bacon. Both artists created their work before Adam was born but his approach really reminds me of their work, albeit a hybrid of their working styles with a unique twist with a definate dark, self depreciating style only a brit could create.
I love the idea of Adam being the new ambassador for the british fine art scene.
Move over YBA's your old hat... There's a new kid in town!
