Upfest • Street Art Graffiti Festival , by UpFest on Jul 29, 2009 15:47:00 GMT 1, Hey one and all,
Trust everyone is well ( no swine flu or anything :-)
We (Upfest) have just been confirmed to appear at Newquays Surfing festival, 'Boardmasters' next week (Late notice I know), and we have space for another five artists to come and paint live at the festival. www.relentlessboardmasters.com/
Main painting area will be at Watergate Bay Music Festival with The Streets, Pendulum, Calvin Harris & Cyress Hill headlining.
You would be required to be in Newquay for midday on Friday the 7th and go home on Sunday the 9th... Painting can take place between Friday midday and Saturday evening. The festival caters for 15,000 festival goers... There may be the opportunity for a couple of artists just to paint on Saturday but that depends if we still have spaces left following this email...
What you would receive;
Free weekend pass to all the music at watergate bay Four or Five cans of spraypaint (donated by ourselves) A ruddy good weekend...
What you would need to do;
Get to Newquay As much painting as you want over the weekend that we can cater for Camping has been arranged with a local farmer at £5 per person per night. Bring food, tent and beer money
What we are doing;
We are building a number of beach huts to be located across the site for you guys to paint We will have a small stall selling existing upfest goodies and anything you care to bring with you
Also at the last festival (Nass Festival) we set it up so that artists ended up painting peoples shoes, wellies and skate decks etc, we'll try and do the same sort of thing again to generate a bit of pocket money.
If you would like to come please let me know via email upfestival@googlemail.com by Midday this saturday at the latest, the quicker you reply the more chance there will be of a space.
Any Q's just ask....
Steve and the Upfest Team

And haha, no one told me it was going to be a sophisticated affair, Pistol.

Daniel Silk • The number or Boards and Threads continues to fall as we simplify the layout of the forum.
Daniel Silk • I hear a lot of Artists complaining about Instagram in the past year, how it used to be a good tool for Artists, but it's not good anymore, is that true?
anyaart • For Brett Kern fans, I noticed there is a spinosaurus for sale on E-Bay. It's a limited edition, one of only 60 made. This is the rarest of his dinosaurs. I am not the seller. I already have the same dino purchased in 2016. I've never seen one up for sale
Daniel Silk • Apology • Sorry I have been offline this past few weeks, due to a very bad Fever. I'm slowly getting better, step by step, and catching up with things here on the forum on the days I'm well enough. Thank you for your understanding.
Boy Wonder • I read that they were more or less nicked the same day they went up. Loads of fakes exist.
milou2 • Would love to see any photos of Banksy's first exhibition at the Severnshed in Bristol (2000). Who was there?*
jirr • Hi all, over here in the states. Pandemic put me out of business, need to sell this asap. Please send offers thanks so much
matgab • Steven Harrington - Gotcha first ed for sale.
1nkling • I can't help but think that a more reasonable tier for people who just want to support the work you guys do would raise more income. Then other tiers for those that want specialist benefits.
1nkling • As soon as I saw the heading for the email I thought 'Oh yeah, I use that place a lot. I'd happily support it'. Not at £40 a month though. I have a paid sub for a Formula 1 site I use that is very active. They have a high uptake on subs at £12 a year.
1nkling • Pricing on the new supporters sub seems a bit poorly thought out. £40 a month to have a pinned sale thread being the only listed benefit?
Daniel Silk • The forum now has more than half the number of Boards than it had a year ago! As we work towards simplifying the layout.
