Upfest โข Street Art Graffiti Festival , by snik on Sept 2, 2008 20:31:56 GMT 1, where ya'll staying? i think im gonna go for the travel lodge about 5 miles away from the centre, think total for 2 nights is ยฃ90, which is sweet. anyone know any better options? also i rekon im gonna buy paint in bristol, anyone fancy hooking up saturday to show me where to go (and maybe drink some beers and have a crafty bombing sesh). ill be at the factory on saturday to prime my wall, so whatever goes....

I've drank in their a few times and it's a great place, not your average hostel... :-) and just down the road from a few banksy pieces... :-)

There is the Travel Inn above the Bus Station, Ibis down on the waterfront (Canons Marsh) and also one right opposite Temple Meads train station. Im sure you'll find some thing much closer to town and the Tobacco Factory for ยฃ45 a night no problem...
But you cant beat the Full Moon for a cheap bed and a decent bar...!

City are home to Norwich so the Factory could will be very busy from 12-3pm and the again from 5pm on so if I were you I'd try to get there for about 2.45pm?

Bristol City are playing at home on the Saturday, but for those artists coming to prep on Saturday we have agreed for the Car Park Area (main artists area) to be closed off so you can all prep in peace... :-)
The Main event is Sunday the 19th, Canvases will go on sale either at 11 or 12, the patio area which will house 8 - 12 artists will also be open at this time... The main artists area will open at 3pm (following the closure of the farmers market at 2.30) to both artists and on lookers... This staggerd approach should mean a nice flow of people throughout the day and evening :-)
On another note, Fine Arts were selling 6 cans for ยฃ21 last time I went in a few weeks ago, but their stock was pretty low... I'll go in and check to see if the offer is still on and what their stock levels are like... Hey shit, with all this free promo I reckon they should come on board as an event sponsor, anyone know the owner?
