Banksy Nola - Most Flipped B Print ever?, by Sundowner on Dec 12, 2008 16:32:33 GMT 1, you can pick up a nola for around ยฃ2500 i rekon, and for VHL ithink u'll be looking at 4-5k immediately after the Nola was released, they were getting 4-5K off the bay - now people have them in hand the price has dropped - similarly I suspect the same will happen with VLH. So lets see how many come up next week, when people have them in their hands. Also the economic climate is looking worst each day, so pressure sales may dictate the price even further.
Spot on alsabar. I reckon that once everyone gets VLH, ebay will be flooded. I also think that Nola will hold its value better in the long term - the image is more "classic" Banksy to me and I think it appeals to a wider audience....and not everyone wants to look at a Tesco logo on their wall every day.

Banksy Nola - Most Flipped B Print ever?, by buffin on Dec 12, 2008 16:43:07 GMT 1, Selling a very limited edition of prints so cheaply was bound to get all sorts of people interested in making a quick grand or two. Rather like Maggie Thatcher selling off cheap shares in BT and the water companies.

It's things like that that get me down. I couldn't go so it's only my fault I wasn't in the draw but it still pisses me off.

Banksy Nola - Most Flipped B Print ever?, by pezlow on Dec 12, 2008 17:15:20 GMT 1, The worst thing on the weekend was that the people behind me in the queue to get in to POW were talking to the welsh breakdancer. He was asking them what artists were queueing to buy and they pretended it was some big secret. Ultimately though it was clear that they didn't have a clue.
The bloke directly behind me sent his mate off to get a second lot of 20 tickets for the raffle as they also decided to enter the the raffle to buy the vhils print. His mate came back and told him there was no raffle for the vhils print....

Banksy Nola - Most Flipped B Print ever?, by 365takes on Dec 12, 2008 19:19:48 GMT 1, I think that more vlh will go to the right homes from source. It is far easier for someone that wants to flip it to sit and refresh than travel miles to an event they are not all that interested in... although I'm sure a fair few did. A lot more forum members got them, including me. I think less will appear on ebay as a result pushing the price up. Longer term, I would say the Nola will be the more sought after/expensive because it is such a strong image - even if you don't know the meaning behind it.

Banksy is a big fan of Travis, a Scottish alternative rock band from Glasgow. His favourite song being "why does it always rain on me?"

Banksy Nola - Most Flipped B Print ever?, by ecb on Dec 12, 2008 21:51:56 GMT 1, You have to keep in mind that a lot of those sales recorded after the first couple days, which are also the higher value sales, may not have actually been finalized and no $$ may have changed hands. I imagine people would use the BIN to get the buyers personal info to pass along to POW, or maybe POW did so themselves and cancelled their orders.
I think VLH will be flipped more. No US people got them and it looks like alll the Banksy's are being flipped from the U.K. Since they are all in the U.K., I see more being flipped.

Banksy Nola - Most Flipped B Print ever?, by neale on Dec 12, 2008 22:22:48 GMT 1, suppose you have to think of the size ofthe print run, as a percentage of the release , at the moment it must be the soup can, for such a small run, after the Drewatts sale theres been about 3 a week up.. some of them must be moody. As for vlh, hopefully more fans got them than flippers, it seemed a fairer system for me, no way mine will ever be on ebay, clearing wallspace as we speak!!!

Banksy Nola - Most Flipped B Print ever?, by graeme501 on Dec 12, 2008 23:00:42 GMT 1, u have to remember that the ecconomy is shit, and banksy = money
people who have no interest in urban art see it as an easy way to make a good few ยฃ1000, and they would be right, u buy for ยฃ350 and then the next second u x10 ur money
but if somebody gave u a way to make ยฃ3000 in a day doing nothing outwith the art market, then every single person on here would take up that chance, it just so happens that we take it to heart because we are fans of urban art, and we are giving these people the easy money, but they are not fans, and owe us nothing, and there is no reason for them not to do this

More fair to whom? I think if they work out the kinks with the web system then technically everyone has a chance. Without giving a lie detector test to every buyer no way to weed out flippers with any system FAIRQ etc. Hey glad to all that won though.

Banksy Nola - Most Flipped B Print ever?, by neale on Dec 13, 2008 0:10:59 GMT 1, with a print in such high demand its really difficult for the printers to decide how to go with it. pow must know that its value goes up 300per cent on release, but faced with that a ballot was a pretty fair way to sort it, you had to be there in person, which these days is probably as good as you could get it. though perhaps the fairest way now is to release an unsigned version online with proceeds going to another charity

Banksy Nola - Most Flipped B Print ever?, by raiden on Dec 13, 2008 6:15:28 GMT 1, Its still too early to tell, but NOLA is high for its edition at this point. Morons and Trollye's had wayyyy more prints, and Trolleys is a weaker print IMHO, so I think a lot more people are okay to part with them to trade up - so I see a lot of turn over with them.
I think the topper has to be Trolley's.

Banksy Nola - Most Flipped B Print ever?, by savilerogue on Dec 13, 2008 11:25:38 GMT 1, NO... At least not yet anyway. Nola = 20 (sold on ebay) S&S = 100 u/s Morons = 87 u/s Applause = 68 But the clear winner is Dirty Funker's Sonic/Radar Rat artwork - a staggering 193 have changed hands on Ebay, and that's just the white version. (all figures from Expresso Beans)
Over 150 sales of colour Trolleys on eBay so far (but of course then some of these will have fallen through/been duplicates, and there's sales outside of eBay to consider).

Banksy Nola - Most Flipped B Print ever?, by veralynn on Dec 13, 2008 18:41:09 GMT 1, Give the bloke on the Clapham omnibus a chance to make a grand for a days work and he will take it, don't blame them.
Queue up for a few hours with a chance to turn ยฃ20 (maybe more...) into ยฃ2500 and you get all sorts rocking up. How many people can really afford to look a gift horse like that in the mouth?
Had I won a VLH I would've kept it but I would've sold something else to generate a few quid for a better Christmas pressie for the missus - the net result it would've 'made me money' for zero effort. To be honest I might've tried to swap it for Nola as I prefer that, does this make me a bad man?
