Not sure what you are basing this on besides it hasn’t sold. I can tell you I personally have looked at 3 or 4 NOLAS in the last 6 months or so. All of them have sold for more. Maybe the market has changed? IMO it hasn’t it’s a slower time of the year.

Also, the forum people aren’t nearly as connected - not even close, to the connections of Sotheby’s, Christie’s and some galleries. You’re interacting and conducting a transaction at a much more elevated level than lowballers here.

I'm pretty sure you don't care who gives you the money. If a gallery etc offered you the money you'd hold out for a forum member?

Gallery. Few here have the money. The platform of UAA isn’t best for higher stakes sales. Good luck. If your pricing experience expectations are realistic, you should sell in no time. The only thing that slows down the process is when Gallery asks too much, or if seller consigns with unreasonable expectations on what price they want. If there is no greed from either party should go quick. Good luck.

Let’s be honest. If he consigns to an auction or gallery there is no way he’s going to clear £40k for himself.

As previously mentioned I have seen NOLA recently well over £40k. I also know you can tell the broker the amount you want to make for a piece and they could be willing to sell for you and keep the difference.

But I could tell you that as well. Punt it round for 90 days and hope to make a margin for myself on it.
If they’re that sure then they would buy it off you for £39k.
Be fair to yourself. You haven’t even given yourself 90 days to sell it yet. Your best hope for the maximum to yourself is to sell it here privately. It may just be that your expectations are too high at present
