Not that i want to drag this out any longer than absolutely necessary, but i like the image - not the techniques used, will it detract or add to my enjoyment of it when its framed.

I reckon it's an iconic image. I love that raw style. You don't see it very often.

Bast is an acquired taste.
I respect his "legendary status", but as much as i want to like his work, I don't really.
I can't stand Cartoon characters or "celebrities" like Amy Winehouse used like he does. It's been done to death. Although he does do it in a slightly new way, it still doesn't sit right with me.

So I got my Bast Popeye the other day and the bottom right hand corner was crushed. I am flattening it out to see if the damage goes away a considerable amount. Does POW do replacement prints on hand finished Bast prints normally. I absolutely love the print i got. There is a ton of hand finished paint and I really hope the corner looks better after flattening it out.

Oh, the paper the print is on is a lot thinner than I would have imagined. I would say it is on 40-50 pound weight paper. Thicker than a paster, but thinner than say the Nola Banksy. With the paper being this thin and the amount of ink used, it created a little warping in the paper. This is my first Bast. Is this normal for a Bast print?

Theres a ton of ink on my copy. I will post some good pics later this weekend.

i have
a swoon chipboard fish print and a signed paper monster mylar, eine vandals, we hate eine and when the lights go out, the big blu head from studio cromie, a big old unsigned bast logo face, a fortress broken deck, a dave the chimp broken deck, some kelsey brookes, an old chris stain original on card, a green faile bunny boy statue, probably some other stuff too....so you can choose one of a similar vlaue or pick and mix....

Have to say the Popeye looks a bit pants...but each to their own. Slugwaters Mickey print on the previous page looks the nuts though. really like that !!!

don't know about that. This is like a nod back to Bast of a few years ago. Popeye shone out at the POW open day, for sure.
