well it was fun for a while, i didn't need a TV or radio, just used to look out of the window for entertainment. i saw so many incidents and called the police on several occasions, they used to take forever to turn up. Wouldn't have taken them so long to turn up if i was calling about an incident in Clifton. The night my wife and I moved to Kingsdown about 6 years ago,we had taken one minibus full of our stuff and had returned to collect the rest. as we pulled up to our flat, we could see an ambulance and police cars everywhere around our flat. there was blood smeared all over are front door. a guy who was waiting for a neighbor had been attacked by a gang of people with baseball bats and robbed. also outside our gate one night an angry mob kicked shit out of every Somali person who walked by, which didn't go down well in my house as my Mrs is Somali. we had a bottle thrown threw our window and i took quite a bit of stick for being with a Black women. my Mrs got beat up just for being Somali, by 3 Jamaican girls who had huge dogs. she was badly shaken an had some nasty scratches and her friend took a real bad kicking to the head. to be honest i was happy to get out ;D. sure that doesn't come as a huge surprise.

Will this be Nick Walkers next TMA print??, by Deleted on Mar 12, 2009 0:34:53 GMT 1, Cashman shiiitting on Walker again, whats your agenda bro? Every thread that pops up with Nick Walkers name there is cashman pissing on someones parade. IMO When I saw the title of this thread and before I even opened it I knew that Bad Robot would have a derogatory comment on it. All you usual Nick Walker bashers, we get it, we understand, we know you hate allmost (if not all) that Nick produces, if anything is boring then its your constant slaggings of a great street artist, now do us all a favor, f**k off and get a life.
sorry I must have missed my deragotory comment about Nick where did I put it again??? pls show me???
just to state again - i have the utmost respect for him, historically he's a big part of the Bristol graf scene - that doesn't mean I can't give some constructive criticism if I see fit. I love ghetto ghost as a piece and originally liked the TMA series but do feel its now run its course
I'm looking forward to Nick, Dface etc etc coming out with some new stuff which excites me again because in all honesty its been a while since they've done the business for me

Will this be Nick Walkers next TMA print??, by jonpud on Mar 12, 2009 1:20:39 GMT 1, BadRobot, my comment was really based upon several previous Walker threads where I have seen you critisize in on eway or another Walkers work! And to be fair it wasn't based at anyone in particular just at those who are supposed to be members of a street art forum because they love the ethos of street art but still choose to constantly slag one of our most important artists!
I personally do not like the work of Adam Neate, nor Parla, to be honest I just don't get it. And with all due respect Parla is about as repetative as it gets IMO caligraphy squirls! My 5 year old daughter painted something remarkably similar to a Parla recently but she wouldn't manage a Nick Walker piece. Anyway I don't go on every (in fact any) thread slagging the artists lack of skill or imagination, I respect the fact that others like it and I respect the fact that if others like and understand it who the fuck am I to criticize?
Let those who want to enjoy the work and wish to enjoy participating in conversation on threads set up for those artists get on with it in peace. Unless the critisizm is constructive just move on and leave the thread alone!!!
I just don't get the mentality of those who seem to want to target a particular artist time and time again!?
I would add that I was about to comment on D*Face, another artist who doesn't float my boat, surely his work is as repetitive if not more so than Walkers? Monroe, Cobain, Churchill, Warhol, HRH, Spiderman, Superman............who's next? The Increadible Hulk? I am glad you added some balance to your argument by mentioning his name BR.
Anyway I apologise to Cashman who is not a repeat offender and I apologise to any other member who thought I was directing my comments at them, I wasn't refering to any member as an individual, just all those who have forgotten once again why we are members of this forum!!
End of lecture.

Will this be Nick Walkers next TMA print??, by jonpud on Mar 12, 2009 1:30:08 GMT 1, And one more thing, I doubt VERY MUCH the image posted will be the next print, having spent a lot of time in the company of Nick I have learned that the Vandal has only a couple more bombings left before he gets caught.
Some of you will be pleased to know that Nick realizes that the series can't go on for ever and I know he has a couple of special places yet to visit and I doubt he would waste a print on a city already covered! The New York skyline showing the Vandal escaping by boat was a one off canvas that has also been painted on the streeets of LA, for those who haven't seen it here's a pic for you, for those who could'nt give a flying fuck and are thinking of commenting.........please move on, in fact what the fuck are you doing reading a thread about the MA series for anyway?

they could be classed as teasers, i don't think NW will class them as his best work, it's all a journey and it's not where you are, it's where you end up the hat was top draw imo tho so well cut

Will this be Nick Walkers next TMA print??, by veralynn on Mar 12, 2009 7:39:56 GMT 1, Loved the pictures of St Pauls, a pal of mine was at Uni (well poly) in Bristol and used to live on the borders of St Pauls. Forgot how shit those Escorts were.....truly terrible.
Recall when we went to see him arriveed a bit late as traffic was shit, pulling down the main drag, a gang of local youths were 'looting' a tv shop, alarms going off the whole nine yards, it was about 11.20pm and the police stood by and watched them do it - too much risk in interveening...
Back to topic, I hadn't seen that image on the side of the LA house - that's superb!

Sorry about the swearing Stacey, obviously proves I am not as educated as you, and had you read my post properly you would have seen that I am far from stifling others opinions, in fact the opposite, I would welcome any 'contsructive' criticism. What I object to is the constnt slagging by certain members, it isn't necessary and its far from constructive!
And to accuse me of defending Nick to protect a large portfolio of his work obviously backs you up as a new member and someone who doesn't know me. I find your remarks offensive and without foundation, those who know me on here know that my interest is far from being money driven, for you to accuse me of something when you know nothing about me is out of order to say the least.

(i know it isnt btw! )
I think the girl in the Bowler hat is a classic mix of Walkers older and newer styles. dont care much for the arm plant or for that matter the 'coat of arms'or much else since the morning after series started(apart from the MA series).
That said I know of Bands who release a classic album, then release 2 or 3 s**t in comparison albums, but they sometimes come back with classics.
Predicting the future is a very difficult thing to get correct, but if you look at Walkers career up to this point, you'll see some Classic and some very average work and my guess it that will continue. he'll have great periods and some that just don't work for me or most.
just wonder how many of you queued up at the Wonderfull workshop show in Bristol just under 2 years ago?. when the doors opened there were about 10 people stood outside, I know several of those people and i dont reconise anyone who has contributed to this thread. the standard of the work there was mixed(mainly good) and that was after the Morning after series started with Bristol on canvas.
i'll always enjoy keeping an eye out for Nick's work, he is a top bloke and has done no end of good for street art, but we just can't expect to see the very high standards of the Morning After series from him all the time.

You are entitled to an opinion, it was also uncalled for to accuse someone you don't know of being here for the money, I find that more vulgar than swearing. However I accept your point and will remove it from my post.
'Fanboy'..........Jeez where do we get these people from? PLEASE read my posts and think again!

Will this be Nick Walkers next TMA print??, by shower on Mar 12, 2009 10:25:20 GMT 1, nicks tmas are classics. i own the bristol one and imo its my favourite print i own! when the vandal series comes to an end it would be quality to see the vandal being arrested, dragged off by police with the wall behind him dripping with paint, taking him right back to where he started - in the vandal triptych, or maybe sitting in a prison with this cell covered in paint splats.

Will this be Nick Walkers next TMA print??, by jonpud on Mar 12, 2009 10:32:35 GMT 1, yeah loving that framed street piece, but just dont understand how the guy who can pull off such a master piece then goes and puts the arm plants and bowler hat girls on the streets, its almost like its 2 different artists? (i know it isnt btw! ) I think the girl in the Bowler hat is a classic mix of Walkers older and newer styles. dont care much for the arm plant or for that matter the 'coat of arms'or much else since the morning after series started(apart from the MA series).
Good 'constructive' post Slammer. I will admit, I wasn't there, but in my defense I was buying, framing and displaying Walkers work long before the MA series even existed!

If this series of work actually started 2 years ago, do you not think its time for a change ?? IMO his work should have evolved in this period of time..

Will this be Nick Walkers next TMA print??, by slowmo on Mar 12, 2009 10:50:47 GMT 1, for those who could'nt give a flying f**k and are thinking of commenting.........please move on, in fact what the f**k are you doing reading a thread about the MA series for anyway?
[glow=red,2,300]"I might not agree with your opinion but I would fight to the death to defend your right to express it!"[/glow]
The irony of your signature hs not been lost on me ;D Not exactly fighting to the death asking them to move on because you disagree with their opinion.
BTW - Yes this is a just a gentle wind up based on the contradictory nature of the post and sign off, not a dig at Pud.

now that would be cool, or something like this with the vandal overlooking his work inside the prison...

I give up! Perhaps what I have been trying to say has been lost in translation!
I repeat " ALL CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM WELCOME, ALL SLAGGING JUST FOR THE SAKE OF IT IS UNNECESSARY AND UNPRODUCTIVE"
I also stand by my signature, I try to live by it and therefore my opinion is as admissible as anyone elses!

Will this be Nick Walkers next TMA print??, by Deleted on Mar 12, 2009 11:18:37 GMT 1, this world would be an incredibly boring place if we all agreed all the time, here's to people saying what they want and others defending it with a passion there's room in this little forum world for all - its not life and death
any criticisms I've made are from the point of view of a fan looking for work that i'll defend with a passion too
great post slammer - I remember buying my ghetto ghost some 2 years ago and having pretty much free reign too choose the one I want, I also remember the moona canvas sitting on Nicks site for a long time prior to being bought and the moona prints (and plenty of others) not selling out immediately - times change - and I hope for some more new work that I can say fuck yes this is what it's all about to me
