and re: photographs having to be on photographic paper - in this digital age - glicees . lambadas etc are printed on to all sorts of papers.
and as to buying photographs - are they less valid that a screen print? I don't think so... all valid art forms...

I really like JR's work - i think the street installations are stunning, along with the videos and the photo of the favela is a great memento of a ground breaking street piece however the gallery pieces on wood don't do it for me and i don't like the "mafia" or "hold up" prints. I think the latter is mainly popular because of the tate connection rather than for any particular artistic merit (compared to his other photos).

agreed - its on watercolour paper so i would say its a nice matte finish

No, the pieces at Laz were pasted onto old bits of wood, doors, antique mirrors, and were more like his street work.
A JR photo on paper just doesn't do it for me (so much).

StudioCromie's are screen prints this is a straight photo.
it's well worth a punt - always thought the Laz one was over priced and the crackedz one lacked a signature and got mixed reviews - fingers crossed.. ;D
