Creating Deckled Edges?, by bullet on Apr 28, 2009 11:02:30 GMT 1, from what ive seen dude, its just how the paper is made as to why its got deckled edges, otherwise you will just end up with torn paper.
when they make the paper, because the pulp is finer towards to edges it gets that effect.

Creating Deckled Edges?, by PRO on Apr 28, 2009 11:08:37 GMT 1, This is done when the paper is made..
Although if you are very carefully using a knife and a strait edge you can score the paper be care full not to cut all the way through the tare it off with your strait edge still in place.... this gives similar results... just have a little play around..

You can use a deckled edge tool which does not have a straight edge. The paper is torn, not cut you can buy them deckle rulers in a craft shop for about tenner

Creating Deckled Edges?, by Little Art Book on Apr 28, 2009 23:41:40 GMT 1, In many cases a paper edge is re-deckled after the screenprint process. Screenprinting requires at least one straight edge for multicolour prints.
Here's how its done:
1 - Lightly score the edge on the reverse of the paper 2 - Dampen the line with water 3 - Place a ruler on front side and tear 4 - Allow to dry
Practice before you try on a valuable print.

sorry off topic again, i just can't be assed to start a new one for this sh it.
If Banksy died tomorrow, god forbid, would we even know? Would someone just carry doing work and prints in his name for a few years and then it all stopped? Am i the only one who seems to me trigger-happy? You know buying to much art and stressing about the cost and suffering buyer remorse and the rest.....?

If you DIY your print , it's edge will not be deckled, but it might be speckled

I'm sure there's plenty of starving artists out their that could offer a deckling service by gnawing on the edge of your prints. You get the finish you desire and they get a nice starch rich meal;!
