A club I used to work in had that as a feature wall and it was smooth to the touch but was smashed to death on the other side!
Don't know if they laminated the broken glass or broke laminated glass if you know what I mean.
but that would be the dogs B's to put that in the mix

Thanks Stickee, when I went to the place to get the glass they had that sort of thing there, it's not something they can localize though sadly, it's the whole panel or nothing. Still on the plus side it gave me an idea for my kitchen worktops!

Please don't apologise for being critical, at least you like the frame! The unfinished areas have been left like that on purpose, it's hard to see in the photo but the background is made up of quite a few shades of green and in some areas it all blends together

Thanks grub, I was wary at first of using green as I have found in the past that a lot of people don't like it as a colour, however I just thought fuck it!

As a matter of fact, I too sometimes paint on glass and have also recently tried perspex (plexiglass) : I like painting each layer on a different glass or pespex and separating them a bit to give some perspective effect.
I did something with broken glass a long time ago and that might be useful to you : you can paint your stencil on one glass, then really break another one and then use a third one to protect the whole thing so that the broken glass is sandwiched and won't fall apart. The problem is the weight, but if the piece isn't too big, it works. You also have to find an ad-hoc frame that will hold together the three glasses... This is why I now start using perspex as it can be drilled and i use screws, bolts, nuts & wingnuts... hope that helps

Thanks for that Jef, it's so tough working on glass because like you say the wight is an issue, this piece with just one sheet of glass weighs over 12kg with the frame!
Its definitely something I am going to play around with again as I enjoyed working backwards and having to think differently about my approach.

Hi Dan, cheers for that. I picked the frame up ages ago, it was a mirror to be honest and I just replaced the glass. I meant to ask the guys from prefab where they got theirs as well!
