Affordable Framing in 2010, by Deleted on Nov 25, 2009 23:00:06 GMT 1, Final BUMP for the questionnaire.
I got my workshop in East London yesterday so it's all systems go for the New Year.
All those who have already (VERY KINDLY) filled in my survey, I'll be in touch in January with all the details regarding discounts etc. and maybe even some kind of opening night...providing Schlomo's not drank all my beer by then
Cheers!

Completed survey. Got 2 prints I need framed asap! There is defo a need for reasonable framers in London - so I don't think you should have too much difficulty getting business in this climate if quality service provided! ;D

Affordable Framing in 2010, by shinybrite on May 2, 2010 22:35:37 GMT 1, Rent Rates Wages Bills Insurance for expensive pictures left on site Time with customers High Quality Materials WASTAGE LONDON & finally PROFIT!!!
Welcome to framing 2010 style, it's a luxury not a necessity!
Best - Jack
Calling all Londoners... Not a sales pitch, but a fact-finding mission, from which I hope some of you will benefit next year (NB. I checked approach with Silky before posting this). Since being made redundant 9 months ago (my reward for years of hellish commuting, corporate politics and 16-hr days), I have been working at a Picture Framing Workshop, learning the basic skills of framing and conservation techniques as well as building up an understanding of options in respect of mounts, mouldings and glass (a much more rewarding experience). As an art collector for many years (Banksy et al), I have spent a PHENOMENAL amount of money on framing, and in the last nine months I have established a number of things: 1) London framers are a rip-off 2) There are loads of great ways of framing pictures that I never new about 3) There must be an opportunity for a high quality, affordable framers in London In the early part of 2010 I intend to set-up a picture framing workshop in East London to serve art collectors and artists in the London area with framing solutions which are: 1) HIGH QUALITY 2) REASONABLY PRICED 3) CREATED BY PEOPLE WHO ARE PASSIONATE ABOUT THE LONDON ART SCENE To help me achieve this dream, I would be most gratefu if you could spend a couple of minutes (it really is only that long) answering this short questionnaire. All Forum respondents will, naturally, be offered a significant discount on first orders. Thanks in advance. John The Framer Here is the questionnaire: FreeOnlineSurveys.com/rendersurvey.asp?sid=bgv275tak40rg1v667080

Affordable Framing in 2010, by Deleted on Jul 12, 2010 23:10:21 GMT 1, So, I've got a workshop in East London and I'm working there every Friday and most weekends. My original plan was to do this full-time but then I panicked and got a proper job instead (we're having a baby too, so didn't want the added stresses of trying to make ends meet). Anyway, I negotiated a 4-day week and I'm currently framing bits and pieces for work colleagues and mates. I've still got everyones' e-mail who kindly answered my questionnaire and I still intend to offer you a good discount, it's just that I want to be sh*t hot before I frame anything for anyone on here as I only want good press. I also need the time to be able to do the jobs, which at the moment I don't have. That said, if you want to pop over one weekend, drop me a PM and I'll happily show you round.
