$125 around £76, not sure if this is with postage or not though.
Seems a lot for a soft cover book when you compare it to the Elms edition and the previous Parla book releases.
And no information on edition size or number of signed copies.

Botos Gallery in Hong Kong said that the maximum number to be printed of this catalogue was 1,000. They only had a handful for sale at their gallery and OHWOW only has 20 for sale...so it is safe to say that this Signed Edition is rather limited. Plus, it's Jose Parla after all. There is not much you can get from this guy unless you have tens of thousands to pay for an original. Nice looking catalogue.

Obviously each to their own but it still does not compare to this, which is a hardback book and not a catalogue and cost £90…

Crikey! not at all G Man, was just thinking that if some people had already bought a few each thats why they could be sold out when you want one thats all.

Through his paintings, Parlá searches for a past - one that may or many not have ever existed. He has tilted and likened his work to journals, memories, and repuzzled cityscapes from pieces and bits of newspaper and segments of posters torn from the walls of the cities he has visited. The artworks themselves, often large-scale canvases, confront the viewer like walls that have been written and rewritten upon. In his works, the writing has built and caked over, preserving in its purposeful fossil-like sedimentation and erosion something akin to the rings of a tree. And as with a history or a memory, where thoughts become blurred, reshaped, and influenced by the more recent past, so too is the reading of the artist's work.
