I would suspect that Banksy's involvement in creating the monster has more to do with the parody itself than the admiration of camera skills.
The LA show "Life is beautiful" is pure Banksy, from concept to execution, and probably the most funny and clever thing he has ever been a part of.

If the Duchamp parody is nonsense what does it say about the other 90% of urban art coming out that isn't half as interesting as that piece? What about the hordes of urban artists that are spewing out derivative work that has absolutely no concept to it? Someone suggested that MBW prints will be worthless in 10 years. I don't disagree, but so will 90% of the urban art prints that have been released in the past couple years. |
