Yeah, Logan's doing a screenprint and D's working on an actual etching ! should work really well for some of his wheatepate designs. Perfect medium. Good to see a gallery/agent directing some creative work rather than simply churning out cheap and easy prints and giclee's

To be honest, I think most do. Entry level and affordable, they've never said anything other. The more expensive ones on POW tend to be far more complex and worked. But I guess the more you buy and collect, the more conscious you become of the "craft" that goes into producing a work.
We'll all end up a bunch of fat art snobs if we're not careful though
Anyone wanna come up and see my etchings ?

absolutely! POW has permeated urban pop culture which in turn has made their artists a commodity as opposed to the actual art being the commodity.

A bit like Beckham's gonna do for your soccer but yeah, you're spot on. It's a fine line to tread between two opposing theories. The "Cult" and religiousity of art as promoted by the church and modernist academics, versus post modernism and art for the people.. I don't imagine they'll ever be aligned as they seem to satisfy a basic human need.
At the end of the day, building a bridge into the world of contemporary art for us normal folk and creating the access and debates it does, can only be a good thing. Sounds a bit poncy, but having an interest in art certainly improves your standard of living. If not your wallet.

Maybe I'm quite picky in my tastes and don't buy things with the intention to just stick in a portfolio. For example, I could have bought some of those Faile when they came on sale - but proactively passed on them. An Nu, we are already art snobs

Black Rat Press grows fast, by pastiepie on Feb 15, 2007 2:11:53 GMT 1, I can only see this as a good thing. POW seem to have turned into a mass-market PR machine. With all the commoners eyes keenly glued to the POW website allowing the rest to quietly slip in and raid blackratpress. I'm just slightly concerned with the prices, I don't know if they get their printing done externally or they just work with higher profit margins but 300quid for a screenprint is pretty expensive and this will definitely decrease their sales volume. I mean POW can basically shift anything these days by a combination of hype / affordability / volume.

If you're still be considering I would recommend grabbing one before you kick yourself.
It is stunning in the flesh and at 73 x 53cms it's imposing too (in all the right ways)

What's the quality like on the NW? I bet it's good, seems although Black Rat Press aren't cheap price wise, the quality is top notch.

quality of paper & print are top notch, really thick paper, deckled edge can't quite work out where the 7 colours are though...could only really see 3...but that was under hippy low energy light bulbs...will check again in daylight at the weekend

It won't be 7 different colours, but a few colours printed more than once, from what I've been told.

Perhaps, but on something that cost ยฃ300 it's not as bad as paying ยฃ7 postage from POW for something that is ยฃ50, if you see my twisted logic.
