I think that if people wanted to search Ebay they'd search Ebay and that this section should be reserved for Auction House sales but I'm sure a mod can state whatever the rules are. You should also note that the seller is selling a Trolley print WITHOUT the coa, and that the COA is registered to someone else, whom he can't get in touch with. Good luck with that. So if someone buys this and it's not legitimate, we know in which direction to wag our finger. 

I'd think that due diligence should be required when advertising sales like you are currently doing. If something is very off with one print why advocate bidding on the second and taking a massive risk? I've often heard that you must "buy the seller" before buying the work. In this case I'd happily walk away and buy from a reputable source.

... not sure what that last remark means BAA, however the no ebay link stops people posting their own or a friends ebay auction each day and then every few hours and then every few minutes in the last hour trying to push it ...

I've been here since '11 (I was 5 just last week ) and theres always been the rule about keeping eBay links away from the forum.

We do allow links when someone wants to warn or challenge something but as Dappy said - if people were popping up eBay links all the time it would be mental.

wrt the S&S, it is a bid rather than a buy so it could be suggested that if people want to publicise that they might be the owner or have one themselves and therefore have a vested interest in it seeing it achieve the best price possible

If someone wanted to publicise it as they knew someone was desperately looking then wouldn't they tell the person discreetly so said person could get it for the best possible price an without drawing so much attention to it

eBay links appear at the top of the sales threads - these are selected at random from pre-specified search criteria so other than matching the keywords there is no control on what is and isn't displayed there and therefore one person cant be accused of manipulation.

Maybe the rule was more unspoken and not so heavily enforced as they used to be posted when something of interest was for auction and I don't remember them being deleted by mods. Again I never saw it as an issue but found it more of a "headsup". Of course just an opinion. 

As far as the "vested interest" argument or "what could be suggested", that could be said with any auction item including Bonhams, Sotheby's ect ect and the inherent possible result of a higher auction price by people being aware of the item should not be the reason for banning it. If the item receives a higher price it is because someone wanted to pay that price regardless of how they became aware of the auction. If there might be shill bidding ect, restricting it here won't stop that either.  Of course most owning Banksy works like seeing higher and higher auction results as time goes on but I highly doubt restricting Ebay listings here will have any effect on the continued price increases. 

Just a discussion here... I'm happy w the forum and continually enjoy it even though it is an entirely different animal then it was years ago.  

So long as most of the 90% isn't price checks of Banksy prints! ;-)

If this is the piece exhibited at Scope Miami (as listed in the ad), the gallery was asking 40k, which is insane even for the U.S. market.

It is strong.  You can easily buy from a few galleries around that price if you don't find one here. If I had one it would be hard to give up at any price.
