i know what you mean but a new release tends to drive the older prices even higher.

Micallef LazInc prints hit the bay instantly!, by guest2 on Sept 19, 2007 9:50:06 GMT 1, If anyone is considering buying do it in a couple of days, my bet is that 50%+ of the peolpe in that que where flippers, by friday they will be sh**ing themselves that they exchanged 5K for 4 bits of paper - idiots
My guess is 75% and there are 8 on the bay already, sorry but i don't think these are keepers so there are going to be floods of these. I say within 1 week 10 days they will be approx £1400 each to buy. Only one that may have a premium is the peace keeper when the dust settles as I feel more people will hold on to this. But anyone buying today on ebay will be wasting there money. As for the stuff from the show (nice one afor that gent bicardi) but I'm really not feeling it at all. I have matching numbers giant freak and shibuya crossing framed up, no one understands me and a JD and I am a fan of his but this new stuff looks like at best a sidewards step. Maybe you have to go there and see them in the flesh but put it this way, show me some Neate originals and weather you see them up close or online they are amazing. Also the actual venue looks like they've knocked it together in a day or two. That warehouse vibe works well with banksy but when you are releasing 150k micallef originals I think something a little more upmarket would have been much more appropiate.

I'd like to agree but I have a feeling that due to these new ones not being as good IMO that the older ones may be more indemand

I wonder if there'll be any of them towards the end of the queue shouting, "Who needs a Peacekeeper? Got your Peacekeeper right here! Will buy any unwanted Peacekeepers".
Money grabbing opportunistic B*astards.

there may be people who have paid some homeless guys a tenner to stand in lne with them, so they can get more. i heard a story(which i know to be true)of a guy who bought 8 judgement days, by asking japanese tourists to stand in line with them and offering them a little cash. i only want one.

Micallef LazInc prints hit the bay instantly!, by medicjones on Sept 19, 2007 10:27:12 GMT 1, This sucks. Im working 13 hour night shifts for £100 a pop and some unemployed b****** stays up all night and makes 3K before heading to bed. Im still awake here pressing the old F5 (showing signs of wearing) wondering if I should just call it quits and go to bed, or stay up all day before work again tonight. Do POW ever take into account people that acually work for a living?!

Micallef LazInc prints hit the bay instantly!, by Strange Al on Sept 19, 2007 10:45:38 GMT 1, I think it's worth checking the auction results very carefully. There are going to be a fair few people very keen to see these prints sell in the secondary market for prices above the true market value. I haven't checked the auctions which have already completed and so this isn't directed at those particularly. Though I think there's a pretty good chance that we'll see a bit of shill bidding over the next few days in order to set a nice benchmark value.
As others have said, I think there will be plenty coming up on the bay over the next few weeks. If people are sensible and don't cane £2K+ on these prints immediately, I think they'll be selling for very little mark up pretty soon.
Ultimately I really don't believe the wider market (beyond the forums and the related hangers on) is particularly big for £2K+ prints of cows with automatic weapons. A lot of people are simply buying for the name and the quick profits, rather than any love for the art. As others have mentioned, the quantity and quality of art (including by many of the World's most respected artists), which you can buy for under £2K is just astounding. Take the name and the profits out of the equation, which I think are in large part based on hype and hysteria, and the 4 Micallef prints are really not a very good buy. Unless you really love the images of course.
