Copyright / Hush - The queue rumours..., by dogant on May 29, 2008 20:20:44 GMT 1, Just come back from the show - not a very happy chap. After coming down to London, paying to stay in a hotel and being the first to rock up - this is what happened. I was first to rock up and slept in the car Ticket given out all day - but at about 9am - 10 people where given tickets - more as they arrived (stopped giving ticket at 47) - advised we could come back at 6.3o Spent the day in London - Tate, Cans, Laz, Pub etc... Came back at 2.30 - allowed a quick view of all - only 1 Hush canvas left @ 4.5k ish First through the door at 6.30 (after friends of artist allowed in) Picked up a T&T II - although myself and number 2 in the Q - picked up the last ones (so thats 5AP and 13 sold before the doors opened) Number 7 in the Q - picked up the last GG RED I think there was about another 10 or so GG Blues. What a shower of s**t! "Blame it on the artist - they sold to friends" they said! WHO WAS ALLOWING FOR THIS TO HAPPEN? WHAT HAPPENED TO 15+5 AND 50 HUSH PRINTS? WHAT HAPPENED TO 40+ CANVASES FOR SALE? Would anybody like to come on the forum and explain why fans that Q for an advertised product (and given Q numbers) have ended with nothing? From what I could see, Anthony from Opus has been doing all the work setting this up, giving us all updates - and then is left to deal with the s**t when the products have all gone! This must be the worst art experience I have had - ever. Crap with a captial C (although I am delighted to say the TT II is really amazing, even with a very bad taste in the mouth) Anybody else have a view? Not good, not good at all. Rant over. That sounds terrible. You have my sympathy. How far did you travel mate?
Came down from Birmingham last night, planned to stay at friends - but that fell through - so drank too much, had a look round brick lane and slept in my car outside the gallery - joined by Dick & Rob at 3am ish!
I need sleep - booked a hotel for the night as I planned to have a few drinks at the show - after 1 beer I left (as did most of the early number Qers)

Copyright / Hush - The queue rumours..., by bobbyt23 on May 29, 2008 20:31:58 GMT 1, Well it doesn't look like Hush has done himself any favours recently with his bigging up of his own work then selling all the prints to friends before the show.
Hopefully they will all be flipped for less than cost on the bay then those who missed out can get one.
Good luck to him in his future career.

Copyright / Hush - The queue rumours..., by onemandown72 on May 29, 2008 20:33:00 GMT 1, So glad that I have gone no-where near the show. If this is true it is an utter disgrace on the part of the gallery. They should have:
1. Limited the amount of work that the pre-sold to canvasses, and again placed a limit on the amounts that they pre-sold of these 2. Left all prints available to buy on the night (as most decent galleries do). 3. To satisfy friends and family done seperate AP's / edition to give them something extra special that wasn't advertised for sale to general public on this forum or anyhere else. 4. Not spent the last 2 weeks shamlessly promoting the work, teasing people and in general creating hype. This is as much the galleries fault as the artists. To blame either is naive as it tarnishes both.
I really feel for all those let down, and hope that this doens't put people off going to other exhibitions of work that they love.
I would finally add considering the suspicion surrounding Hush using different user names to praise his work, to allow this shambles to occur was incredibly foolish.

Copyright / Hush - The queue rumours..., by spirit on May 29, 2008 21:02:03 GMT 1, Really sorry to hear this guys - by the sound of things I'm very glad I didn't go. I had been planning to but was put off by Hush getting caught hyping his own stuff and then doing a runner....
So 35 GG out of 50 presold and 13 out of 15 T&Ts? Disgraceful. Exactly what was the point of the gallery hyping this for weeks only to disappoint people and waste their time?
Sounds there is some serious apologising to be done...

All I know is that 4 accounts were found all with the same IP address. Those were Hush, Mainartery, Ollys and UAC. This does NOT mean they are the same person.
Accusations being made about Opus are totally unfounded as far as I can see.
This is the only information I have, and has only been released due to peoples concerns, and is totally inline with the agreements that all members sign up to when they join any proboards forum.

Copyright / Hush - The queue rumours..., by dogant on May 29, 2008 21:29:44 GMT 1, Did anyone take any pics of the canvases?
I have to say, with all the mess around the prints/forum etc - Hush's work was really, really good - 20+ canvases on show - although out of the 20 canvases there where only about 7 or 8 images - the rest where amendments and re-setting, touching of the same theme - although, still very good.
IMO - the cleaner, clearer canvases in cream & blacks where the strongest - I felt the bright colours and splashes of paint confused some of the overall image in some
romanywg had his camera with him - so I guess he took some pictures - I hope my comments start to them make a bit of sence!

Sorry, maybe that was not as clear as I could have made it I did not mean Funkrye had accused anyone of anything (Sorry Funkrye), Its just I have seen others making such statements elsewhere.

Copyright / Hush - The queue rumours..., by master on May 29, 2008 21:46:30 GMT 1, Just came back from the show and it was a worst experience in my life. Everything that dogant stated is absolutely true. They organized "buyers night" on 28th and sold all Hush canvases (sorry, one left) and most of the prints. I was in q in first 10 and could not even get red GG print - sold out!!! and only 10 - 15 blue left. Everything else was sold the night before to friends. Even Ant told us in face that maybe 5 of each GG prints were sold but rest is all there. Turn out to be bunch of lies. It would be much better to come out clean and apologise to all people that stud their for hours in the rain. Very disappointing!
