I just like the vibe of it plus i have always liked butterflies i guess. If thats a crime or seen as 'gay' then i don't care. Butterflies are awesome.  That's fair enough. I was hoping that the aesthetics of the piece would speak for themselves but since they haven't ill have to give the pretentious explanation that i always hope to avoid cos pretense is not something that sits well with me.
Butterflies are not 'GAY' they are representative of a creature that is beautiful and delicate, Its said that once a human hand touches the wings of a butterfly, the creature will never fly again.
The piece has a simple message, that we try to own beauty that is beyond us, even at the cost of another creatures life. Some of the pieces have text 'WHAT WE CANT HAVE' it means what we cant have ie, the beauty, the ability to fly and be free, we want to own, we capture, kill and display, as if these were conquests, hence EXHIBIT A etc.
but its sumbolic of things that arnt physical, relationships etc. what we cant have we want. And the old saying that rings so true
"if you love somebody set them free"
