The image you've described is called Teenage Phantasm and was released by lazarides under Lucas Price. Same artist as copyright. A Google search of teenage phantasm will take you straight there. Would link it but I'm on my phone and it's a bit tricky.

Lucas Price is Copyright? Not heard that before.

Lucas Price worked/works also under the name Cyclops but this is a new one on me. You can see the artistic connection between LP and Cyclops but I see no connection in the work Copyright produces. Is this true?

I have matching Artist Proof’s of Copyright’s WAKE FROM DEATH and FRAGILE BEGINNING.

Any ideas on value for the pair?

I always believed artist proof’s were worth more. Am I wrong?

I understand the artist proof is the trial version that dictates the quality of subsequent prints. So in effect it is the first of the first.

Do you agree?

Hi, as far as I understand the artists proofs are the final pieces completed leading up to an edition of work. They may vary in their choice of colours or finishing but will be very close to the edition piece of work and you are limited to a maximum of  10% A/Ps per edition. If the print is taken from a metal etching plate, depending on the metal used, the quality of the etching will deteriorate as each print is taken so yes the earlier the number of the edition, the better. Saying that I think the same can be said for screen prints as over time the action of the squeegee back and forth on the screen will make a slight difference to the quality, especially with high numbered editions . Having said that I dont think that half the artists follow any rules, I have seen lots more A/Ps issued where they should have been variations of a print and had their own edition. I have always understood that a low number of an edition is supposed to be better than an A/P but I personally like an A/P as somehow they have more of the artist in them, its something that is still more fluid than the final work. Yep, I know I do go on!! Apologies !!
