Paul Insect 'DJ Shadow' prints, by twist65 on Apr 5, 2011 0:46:46 GMT 1, I think any smudged signatures or creased edges etc will no doubt have happened in storage and it makes it djshadow.coms discretion whether to sell them or not, in my opinion they should have at least stated this was the case with some of the prints on the page where they were selling them - after all you would expect the same if you were buying off ebay/elsewhere. So not good from them.
However phatspiders photo looks like the the ink is smudged in a way that can surely only have happened when the ink was still wet and before the print was signed /stamped etc. Which means POW / Insect / whoever else must have seen the damage and approved it as part of the edition anyway. Which totally sucks, but if they've previously considered it good enough to form part of the edition I can't see them changing their minds now...

Obviously there are limits but at the end of the day it's a screenprint, handpulled and signed by the artist and Dj Shadow. I think it's great that some are smudged, have paint on the back, are not identical. That's part of the beauty of hand pulled screenprints. End of the day, if it wasn't meant to look as it does, then the artist wouldn't sign off on them. If people want perfection, buy Giclee I guess.

I thought Iโd by the CD with which the artwork was used and it came with the original sticker inside and was just curious if there were many stickers he released? Was it similar to Banksy levels of stickers or not so much?
