I didnt as i thought it would have sold immeidately wihout me waiting for a 7 / 10 day auction to finish.
I have had a few offers and have just lowered the price on the bay.
If its still un sold in a few days then i will follow your advice and kick it off at 99p.

I have sent him am essage saying my listing states collection from me in London or I would deliver it locally.
He has appologised profusely and seems really genuine.
He told me he only made the next highest bid so he should be outbid at the next bid.
Do I cancel his bid or see if he gets outbid? I thought I could always offer it to the next bidder with a 2nd chance offer but it seems most people are very wary of 2nd chance offers via ebay!

It's the right thing to do, but it could drop quite a bit depending on where that bid came in. You are right about ppl being wary of 2nd chance offers so best if the first bidder is a goodie ;D

I would just pop the glass out and ship if there was concern, I've had plenty shipped with glass and never had a problem, although the cost for shipping such a large piece the proper way can add up really fast so I see your point with cost and liability...
