My logic is thus, if you buy and flip prints for a living, you would be prepared to queue 24hrs in advance to make a couple of k's - no? Why would a fan queue for a print, which is going on their wall, when they don't even know what that print even looks like yet?

BRP - Nick Walker - The Queue Diaries, by gerry on Apr 16, 2008 19:53:25 GMT 1, Good lord, as some know, i run a blog on bristol graf, and was planning on heading across from bristol tomorrow morn and live blogging the queue experience with photos and the like. Was in two minds about it in a way, and now don't think i'll bother! There's a Will Barras show to check out, perhaps swing by the mudwig show again, and some friends to catch up with.
The butterfly with boat image is probably my favourite, having walked past it loads in bristol before now, but hell, i want it and like it, so don't mind waiting til all this hysteria calms down to pick one up, be it one year, five years or 10...

the atmosphere is cool - we're all freezing our nuts off - we know what's happening (Mike from BRP has told us what the plan is - and its pretty much fool proof) I reckon even if you turn up early morning ' bout 4ish u'll make the 75 - cant guarantee it of course but its an educated guess.
there's a wicked little caf round the corner - got a nice coffee and use of their wifi :-)
& ps - its not a fiasco YET :-)

tickets are being embossed ( so they can't be counterfieted) - for each tickets pics ar being taken & you can't leave the queue - go off sleep elsewhere and re-join the queue - sounds pretty well organised.

How does a gallery now select a sensible amount of people for a preview? Going to a preview night is all about viewing the art, no?
IMO all you are going to see is a queue for the print counter, a little like the Elms show. There were about 2 people in the actual gallery looking at art, the other few hundred were in the print queue, I was going to turn up to catch up with some forum members and fellow art lovers but by the sounds of it I may leave it until the feeding frenzy has died down.
I wonder if the queuing has anything to do with the latest prices being achieved on ebay since his LA show..
