Nick Walker โข Ratatouille , by master on Oct 8, 2008 22:07:10 GMT 1, how do BRP know from ebay who these people are??
Simple, they don't and they cannot find out from ebay. They can cross-reference it through their emails and print numbers but if you don't know which number you are getting you can't advertise it.

1. FIND THE AUCTION 2. WIN THE ITEM 3. SELLER GETS MASSIVE EBAY FEE 4. BRP FIND OUT THE ADDRESS VIA WINNING THE ITEM 5. MATCH THE ADDRESS
Result:
Leaves the seller with no leg to stand on. They cant complain they have a non paying bidder as they had no item to sell in the first place, then the seller gets stuck with a massive ebay fee anyway.

Data is data, with the government losing it left, right and centre, this is a major issue. Ebay can't be giving out peoples info without asking the member (unless the member have opted in) But I assume they put sorting the T&Cs on the enquirer, this is a dodgy subject but if BRP and so to believe POW do ask this these details, not to look to into a criminal matter, but just for personal gain, this in my opinion is illegal.

Yes, i agree with that, once you buy the item you can find out who the person is but not before (or I might be little daft). So in order to stop flipping straight away they need to buy all the items to find out who is selling them...lol

And I expect there address is not rivington st? Why would they be bothered to do this? Bye the way I love brp and have brought a few bits from them, so I'm not having a go at them, but it annoys me that peoples details are so easy to access if you can be arsed.

This is the only way you could stop people from doing it, its different when they have the print in hand of course.

personally i dont think it is expensive, gone are the days of cheaper prints.
Its not greed, its to stop the re-seller market for them. If the price is high to start with it will make people think twice who are just going to re-sell it. This in the long run is a good thing for the collectors as they are usually willing to pay that bit extra to get the bit they want.
For an edition of 95, a sought after artist & image plus black rat press print qualities its not that bad.
Dont forget to take into account the man power for printing these, the inks, the paper all add up these days, you cant do these for ยฃ100 for instance or even ยฃ200 in some cases, it does not make sense.
They will always sell it, but just not as quick as we are used to

They cannot via ebay unless the seller discloses it themselves, ie. the buyer says "where do i sent the cheque or Postal Order".
In some cases it does not take Sherlock Holmes or Colombo when the seller ebay location that is posted says something like "Marwick - Orkney Islands" or a location where they may have sent next to bugger all. BRP in such instances could say hmmm, we have only sent one print there and that was to J Bloggs. Therefore he must be panamajoe from ebay lets cancel his print!
Therefore you budding flippers - put a false or made up location in your ebay location field!

Hot air eh...
heres the clever bit guys. win an auction and do this...
1. Click "Advanced Search" at the top of the eBay homepage. 2. Click "Find Contact Information" on the left-hand side of the page. 3. Enter the item number for the relevant purchase. You can find the item number in My eBay. Click "Search".
you have to have won the item though..gives you the sellers / buyers full contact details including phone number.
when you do this it automatically sends you that persons contact details and in turn sends them yours.
its the last resort before claiming paypal.

nope, did it the other day to make a claim and gave me full contact details including phone, real emails, and address.
from that its enough to hunt someone down and shove a tube down their throat.
