It came with the limited edition book. It's lovely and small which is perfect as I have no wall space left and I love his rats! Very pleased.

Here is the original on canvas of D of C:

blek prints, by Matt-lock on May 9, 2008 16:10:48 GMT 1, I agree that all the prices seem a bit high. The Los Angeles print in LA was nearly 3 feet x 6 feet and editions of only 15 for black, 15 for grey, and 18 for oxblood (48 total) at $1k and now these editions of 75 are equal to or more in price...seems a bit odd.

LOL
The fact this sold out is a classic case of portfolio 'collectors' gone insane, edition size and artist name are clearly important than content. The other prints are pretty cool, bit basic (iconic perhaps) and arguably overpriced but it's Blek le Rat at the end of the day, he can get away with it. Show looks good, love the banality of the Spongebob mashup

blek prints, by mj on May 11, 2008 14:48:02 GMT 1, I agree that the prices for some of blek prints are a bit over priced but I still got the Diana print at the show and it realy does look very good in the flesh [ the best print at the show] and the quality of the paper was better then from NW editions prints. And do not forget that he is the real deal and if we look close to Mr. B works they are all most carbon copy of Blek works ex.Rats, American Soldier... So give him a break and the prices are set by the BRP and not him.

Blek is an artist that I respect as a person as well as a craftsman. However some of your points are incorrect. Banksy's art is not a carbon copy of Blek's work (disregard that well worn quote too. It is so out of date). Banksy's work has a humour and sense of irony that Blek's work does not attempt. The subject matter is quite different too if you look at the broad span of work. As for the prices. Not going into details, but don't blame BRP for the prices on this release.

blek prints, by buffin on May 11, 2008 19:14:08 GMT 1, What Stuey said. Couldn't be more differant in my view. I have a lot of respect for Blek but thats a lot of prints that have just hit the market. Didn't Micallef do something similar to bring down the price of his prints on the secondary market?

blek prints, by moleman on May 11, 2008 20:19:53 GMT 1, i disagree it is alot of prints and some are very good but mics prints were huge number releases. there was nothing like the 1000 and 500 pow did with mic and no offence to mic as i have jd but the release was poor. the blek print releases were simple and very blek alot of them yes but it would be nice to have them. and when you think the dogs were four of the releases the print release was only 4 or 5. thats not much

blek prints, by bobbymeachamjr on May 11, 2008 20:25:33 GMT 1, Sorry, I think when you take bleks "stencils" out of its original context = the streets, then these are terrible prints to have for the home. Basically, you have very simple sillhouettes that look like they can be created in CS3 illustrator in 1 minute. I mean, the whole idea behind the simple stencils was that it was "hit and run" because there was no time...

blek prints, by onemandown72 on May 11, 2008 21:15:33 GMT 1, Depends what you buy them for - I got a coating by my missus when round at the neighbours, who had the HMV voiceless dog canvas saying "why didn't you buy that when you had the chance". Thus it was fantastic to see the prints released of the dog, and so were bought as we both like the image. There was no consideration of the idea behind speed to stencil, just happy to get the chance to get a strong simple and cool print, that is considerably cheaper than buying the canvas!

Bobby = terrible prints might be taking it a bit too over-the-top. They weren't terrible - & isn't good to see a show where there's not a CCTV in ANY of his works!!!
IMO - great work from Blek. & a wicked guy to boot. Will definitely be going to see him when he returns to the uk

blek prints, by bobbymeachamjr on May 11, 2008 21:51:42 GMT 1, Maybe a bit harsh, but I'm a strong believer in "context". Some of the st artists translate/transitioned well to the gallery/home (ie. Faile) but Blek ain't one. My 2 cent opinion but I've been in the creative industry for over a decade now and these are not worth anything near what they're asking. If its a historical piece yes, as new work hell no.
