538 - that he knows of - the "ex-wife" count seems a little on the low side haha

Eine • Single Letter Canvases , by Hubble Bubble on Mar 1, 2019 17:13:52 GMT 1, FTFY ... and you answered it in your 2nd sentence I was curious to know why some people on here like the letters of the alphabet. It's just seems a rather odd thing to like, that's all. Odd to those that don't like it, maybe?
I collect quite a bit of Eine (plus many others from the non-lettering world) so I'll try to explain my appreciation.
Words and language have always had a fascination for me. It seems to me that much of graffiti (and art) has always been language based, what with tagging and verbal messages from Kilroy and the like. So it seems natural that this writing took on its own art form with the development of different fonts, layouts and spacing. I find this experimentation pleasing and interesting on the eye and I like the way that sentences, messages and, indeed, a letter on its own can become the subject of an artistic visualisation that, to me at least, is as valid as any of the other stuff I have on my walls.
It's very difficult and time consuming to describe the beauty of art by writing about it but the way that a painting can elevate one of the otherwise mundane twenty six building blocks of literature into an something that stimulates such discussion as this can be glimpsed and appreciated in a split-second.
So; I guess I appreciate the transformativeness of such visualisations.
I could, however, be talking bollocks.
cheers HB

And I'd love one of these - but cant go for it as I just know it would be slightly off-centre and or wonky and it would irritate the hell out of me to the point I'd have to sell. Which is a shame.

For me - as with graffiti - always liked construction on letters/typography.

Art is a strange beast. Views and opinions can evolve over time; even ebb and flow. When I first saw Eine's work I didn't understand why it was even art! Over years of familiarisation I have come to appreciate the form, layout and diversity within the set parameters of his work and currently own four Eine pieces. Obviously, one can equally hold an opposite view and never wish to own works by him.
Despite 'recent events' I honestly believe that his work will have longevity beyond his lifetime and be held in the great collections.

Eine`s prices seem to of taken a bit of a "hit" lately, a few years ago the small single canvases were more popular and were around £350 if memory serves me right.

Adding to what has already been mentioned by Hubble Bubble and Pipes, letters are the very essence of graffiti. Each one is a building block for a multitude of scrawled or sprayed names and words.
It wouldn't therefore be surprising if a collector interested in graffiti finds individual letters engaging as well.
This seems comparable to, say, a doctor (or zoologist, or even the average layperson) who appreciates the beauty and significance of a single cell. We could make a similar analogy about atoms and chemical elements.
__________
Many enthusiasts of literature, journalism or language might also be drawn to stylised words and letters.
__________
And from a purely aesthetic perspective, I can understand the appeal of a letter, punctuation mark or symbol. Not only among typeface or calligraphy obsessives, but more generally for lovers of art and design.
By way of example, check out the giant Full Stops series of sculptures in different typefaces and mediums by Fiona Banner. They're all the more beautiful because of their deceptive simplicity. This one is called Slipstream:
Consider too the work of Tauba Auerbach. After her Fold paintings, what ranks next in terms of sought-after pieces is arguably her various alphabets and single letters. Here's an ink-on-paper original I would be happy to hang — G, 2005:

There are 19 letters if I wish to buy the exact ones to spell ‘something meaningful’.
I can’t afford that many.
