Chelsea - Luiz Felipe Scolari Sacked, by I like pictures on Feb 10, 2009 12:59:43 GMT 1, Agreed he has done well but it's the lack of European experience/success that would put me off picking him as the next manager.

Chelsea - Luiz Felipe Scolari Sacked, by manchestermike on Feb 10, 2009 13:06:22 GMT 1, Unfortunately i don't think anyone is going to be able to replace fergie completely, he's unique! I've always liked the idea of o'neill replacing him though! Look what he's achieved at aston villa over time without a lot of cash! (also a good argument for not sacking someone after 6 months!)
Villa spent over ยฃ35 million this summer alone (only City and Spurs spent more). They spend quietly which leads people to believe that they don't spend a lot

He did take Celtic to the UEFA Cup Final
Plus next years CL experience with Villa... and still in this years UEFA

Chelsea - Luiz Felipe Scolari Sacked, by onemandown72 on Feb 10, 2009 13:24:45 GMT 1, It would have been more of a surprise if Scolari had been a success so quickly. No experience of managing at club level in Europe, let alone England. And only area of consistency (which for the players is incredibly important) was Steve Clarke, who left to go to West Ham. As for Mourinho going to United, he doesn't play football the way that United expect, nor has he a good history of either buying (or wanting to buy in) the very best world class players. I always feel that he sees these large buys as being too disruptive to a club and his management. Keane - please no As for other managers, who knows when Fergie will retire, and also who will have maintained a strong track record by this point in time

No shocks there then! I wonder how long he'll get? (if he gets the job of course)

Chelsea - Luiz Felipe Scolari Sacked, by Daniel Silk on Feb 10, 2009 14:15:09 GMT 1, Im still hoping that O'Neill will come back to Wycombe at some point in the future Well I can dream cant I ;D ;D ;D
I hear that he still comes to a few games at Wycombe if he gets the chance between Aston Villa's fixtures.
I wonder that nearer the end of management career he might do a few years at Wycombe, and take us up into the Premier ;D

Wow they kept that quiet! They must be buying well then, as something about the combination of manager and players they're bringing in is working well!
