Don't understand the substitutions France made at all (not that they were any more effective before or after the substitutions were made) but I thought Anelka at least should have stayed on. Romania played like Sunderland. God awful every-man-in-goal stuff. Dreary fare indeed.

I thought Anelka was fairly p*ss poor as well, movement poor and should have been pushing far further up the pitch to pressurize the ball.

Although Italy have found favour playing 4-3-3 last night that was the wrong formation to play against the Dutch they played with width and pace.
All the talk had been of how the Dutch were struggling with injurys and so forth so the pressure wasn't there against the World Champions and it showed there looked good last but so did Italy and still expect them both to go through by what my mates said im glad i was working for that France game it looked awful from the highlights(all 2 mins of it).

The atmosphere in Zurich in the fanzones (you had to buy a ticket) and the fanmile (loads of bars with screens etc but you dont buy a ticket) is superb. I'm not really into football particularly when I cannot support England but its loads of fun enjoying the atmosphere without stressing too much about losing and whether we will go out on penalties ;D
