transfer rumours and gossip, by numusic on May 28, 2007 20:10:40 GMT 1, Sick of reading about f*cking Catalogues. Anyone care to hazard a guess as to where Eto'o will end up this summer (sorry if you don't like football. but it has to be better than 1 or 2 other threads currently on the go).
Dave down the red lion swears he's on a freebie to LUFC

transfer rumours and gossip, by stuey09 on May 28, 2007 20:12:09 GMT 1, Hope you're wrong, but think you could be spot on. Eto'o, Villa and Torres could all be in the Premiership next season, unless Juventus decide to up the stakes. Speaking of Italian stars, wonder if Thursday will see Eric and Blu unleashed? (F*ck me, how smooth was that ;D )

Jesus arcam. You nearly gave me a heart attack. Not Owen, it's Owen Hargreaves. Thought they'd bought a bit of Liverpool property for a minute there.

Thought they'd bought a bit of Liverpool property for a minute there. Well judging by Michaels reluctance to commit to the toon, he's probably hoping they will. It's looks like Parker is on his way, with Barton his replacement. What do you recon? As a player I rate Barton more, maybe Big Al can get the best out of him.

transfer rumours and gossip, by Curley on Jun 1, 2007 11:01:45 GMT 1, Last thing Newcastle need is another trouble maker in the dressing room. Look what happened when Bellamy was there.
And as he has sacked the whole defence i think big Sam had better start on the back 4.
The sooner FFS lets Ashley get on with the takeover the better. ;D

transfer rumours and gossip, by arcam on Jun 1, 2007 12:10:48 GMT 1, The sooner FFS lets Ashley get on with the takeover the better. ;D I know........I can't believe the board have had to think about the offer. Ashley is paying over the odds for the shares and is looking to invest around ยฃ400M into the club over 5 years. What's there to think about? As for Freddie, he claims to be a Toon Fan, and once said, โthere is no Abramovic for Newcastle however, if there were he'd gladly step aside for the clubโ. Well there is now and he needs to be good on his word and move on. I know he likes his fat Dividends each year and also his juicy salary, but he can't take the club any further. Football Clubs needs Billionaries theses days in order to compete. This is a god send.

Completely agree.
I have been a NU Thats Newcastle United not Numusic ;D) fan all my life (yes we all have our cross to bear) Now i see a way forward it seems to me that FFS is determinded to make this transition as hard as possible. Thus another season is almost ruined before it starts. FFS needs to do the right thing for the club and clear off.. i will give him and Hall there due they dragged the club out of the old second division with the signing of Keegan and bringing Keegan back in as manager was a master stroke. However sine the heady days of coming second in the league its been going backwards. Robson was ok but lost the squad as he aged. Dalglish, Ruud Gullit, Sounness spent millions and were not even close.
turn the lights off Freddy as you leave the building

transfer rumours and gossip, by arcam on Jun 1, 2007 13:58:51 GMT 1, I agree getting Keegan was a master stroke, however unfortunately those days are long gone and since he's been Chairman FF has made one clanger after the next. Hiring and firing managers like it's going out of fashion and sanctioning the purchase of players at inflated prices and wages. Our scouting system must be the laughing stock of the premiership. Clubs must rub their hands when they see Newcastle coming in for one of their players. With the emergence of Sunderland, Newcastle more than ever need to grab this opportunity with both hands and not let go. Mike Ashley is a winner and he's got where he has got as he suffers no fools. I am convinced he's the man to take this club forward and sort out the current mess. And hopefully Big Sam will prove to us he's the World Class manager he thinks he is.

Yeh, I'm pleased Parker's on his way to Upton Park. Means we can get rid of Nigel 'nobody loves me' Reo Coker.
Was a bit concerned that we were going to put an offer in for Barton ourselves. He's a good player, but I wouldn't want him at the club as I think he's a liability.
Having said that I thought the same about Di Canio when we signed him!

Barton has more vision and can score a goal or two. Good bit of business if you ask me. I am surprised however, that the deal can't be done until Scottie has moved. I thought Big Sam had money to spend?

Think you're probably right about this at the moment, but I don't think Parker's had the best of times lately. It was a poor move to Chelsea, and although I think he did well to move to Newcastle he was playing under Roeder. IMO Roeder struggles to get the best players playing well- he is a joke with no charisma whatsoever!
I think under better circumstances we may see the Parker of old (who knows whether this will be at West Ham though)!!
That said, I think as long he keeps his head straight Barton will do very well for you. If there's anyone who can get him playing it's Big Sam. I think getting him as manager was brilliant for you boys. I'm a big fan of his, and it means that you could get rid of Roeder!!! (God I hate Roeder!!!!! ;D)

transfer rumours and gossip, by carlito on Jun 4, 2007 20:02:09 GMT 1, I really liked what Barton said about Lampard re: writing a book after the shambles of the last world cup..but my problem is as much with the person as with his football - can you think of any industry outside of football where he could get away with what he did and walk into a better paid job...?

transfer rumours and gossip, by Curley on Jun 4, 2007 20:12:53 GMT 1, i have to agree that Big Sam maybe the man for the job. i hope he does get the best out of Barton. But i wonder if it will put others off signing.
i liked Parker thought he had some quality.
Shame we dont still have Bowyer then the two of them could have knocked lumps out of each other... ;D ;D
