The Best Film Ever, by Dibbs 45 on Jun 13, 2013 20:19:04 GMT 1, Never been on this thread before but I thought I'd stick my oar in. Some great suggestions on this thread. The Raid and Old boy I agree I good films, but the world Cinema classic for me is Cinema Paradiso which I recommend. Great story that seems to stay with you for years.

The Best Film Ever, by mmmike on Jun 13, 2013 20:28:11 GMT 1, My memory is terrible. I may have posted this before but it is worth saying again. For my money the greatest movie of all time is Gandhi.
Hard to find much wrong with it. It kind of changed my life. I don't think I can say the same for too many other movies.
If you haven't seen it you are missing out.

The Best Film Ever, by Stoko on Jun 24, 2013 14:33:47 GMT 1, Saw three films over the weekend. New Die Hard. Awful. Turned it off twice. Had to get horribly drunk instead... Despicable me 2. Ace. Really good fun, had my 9 year old guffawing all the way through. And last night saw 7 psychopaths. Why haven't I heard about this before?!? Amazing film. Funny, original and top soundtrack. Really recommend it.

Totally agree, my favourite. Gets me every time. Have to watch it on my own, always gets me maudlin!

CC... and for anyone liking Delicatessen try Le Cite des Enfants Perdu (City of Lost Children - not sure I've remembered the title correctly) by Caro and Jeunet, the same writing/directing team. Jean Pierre Jeunet is a real visionary and went on to direct Amelie, Micmacs and A Very Long Engagement which are all worth a watch (and, of course, all French with subtitles)

Thought the ending was out of wack with the rest of the film... I guess that's what happens when it gets re-written by a douche?

To be honest there's rarely a Holywood film where I do like the ending! The whole 'Good wins out' and 'Everyone's happy' endings can be quite boring.
Now if you want to see a great ending to a film then you need to watch Vanishing Point...now there's an ending!
