The Best Film Ever, by Cornish Crayon on Feb 27, 2016 20:22:26 GMT 1, Well, that newish Mad Max film, the one with Tom Hardy, who I thought was fabulous in Legend, is on Sky telly, and I thought I'd give it a go, whilst doing the ironing. I've never had to endure such drivel. Shockingly bad.
I watched that shit last night and thought it was ok, but I wasn't actually really watching it in between doing other shit

If you want to see Edward Norton and Robin Williams in two of the most random roles ever, then this is the film to watch.

The Best Film Ever, by Coach on May 3, 2016 22:19:02 GMT 1, Just watching the documentary film "Pussy Riot - A Punk Prayer". Started with a fabulous quote from Bertolt Brecht:
Art is not a mirror to reflect the world, but a hammer with which to shape it"
That should be a mantra for street and urban art, I believe.

www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/p01hs5t8/storyville-20132014-7-pussy-riot-a-punk-prayer#group=p03s4b1d
Sundance award-winning documentary which tells the compelling story of how a group of young, feminist punk rockers known as Pussy Riot captured the world's attention by protesting against Putin's Russia. Through first-hand interviews with band members, their families and the defence team, and exclusive footage of the trial, it highlights the forces that transformed these women from playful political activists to modern-day icons. In early 2012, members of the collective donned their colourful trademark balaclavas and participated in a 40-second 'punk prayer protest' on the altar of Moscow's cathedral. Once arrested, Nadia, Masha and Katia were accused of religious hatred in a trial that triggered protests and arrests in Russia and caused uproar around the world. The film reveals the personal motives and courage of the women behind the balaclavas and exposes the state of Russian justice through the court's final verdict.

The Best Film Ever, by South Bound on May 28, 2016 16:07:12 GMT 1, Really enjoyed "The Big Short"
One of my editors and I have digitized "The Hobbit" Trilogy and are currently re-editing (during our down time) to make it a closer representation of the book... And hopefully a single 3hr movie... Yes we are nerds.

The Best Film Ever, by searchandrescue on May 30, 2016 13:07:02 GMT 1, Thanks Ploppoi, does tetsuo exist on dvd or is it just swirling around on the net? Will def. watch. Remember as a kid thinking that terminator was my generations kinda cold war, a horrifying future where human / machine organisms ruled the world! Awesome! Terminator, as I understand it was more like a horror film, the horror was the fact that he was part man part machine?? Bits like the terminator cutting out his broken eye were, well, an eye opener!!! www.amazon.com/Tetsuo-The-Iron-Special-Edition/dp/B0009GV9FK probably get one on Ebay too. Similarities in the industrial machine like music and Terminator too. Maybe some influence there and also films like Matrix based on Japanese Manga, Ghost in the machine etc. Thanks Ploppi, got both in fopp for 6 pounds. Pretty mental, "The Iron Man" was great for lots of reasons, "Body Hammer" was slightly 'better'? In that it was 90's Manga Kitsch?? Every bad guy in manga has those shitty round mirrored sunglasses and oversize Watanabi / Comme cloaks?? Nice to see some of those ideas committed to celluloid.

Thanks sar. At $56 it's quite a deal for 7 films and extras. The real rub will be when everything starts re-releasing in 4K.
