Banksy works in New Orleans - PHOTOS, by eddiedangerous on Aug 31, 2008 10:03:12 GMT 1, im not in favour of this idea but really this has to be the strongest evidence that Banksy might be a team. (repeat i'm not in favour of the idea but this has to be the most single pieces by the guy outside of a gallery...ever???) He has always had a team no?
dunno ive never been out painting with him in New Orleans ;D

(repeat i'm not in favour of the idea but this has to be the most single pieces by the guy outside of a gallery...ever???) He has always had a team no? As I understand it, he quite often has folk along to help out, certain artists are happy to admit being out with MrB, putting up rats etc... Being helped and instructing others is one thing, being a team is a whole different kettle of krylon, I honestly dont believe a collective could have stayed as such without becoming public knowledge due to the recent publicity, especially the suposed controversy with other well known figures such as mr Walker..... who still refers to Banksy as He rather than they... The New Orleans pieces are predominantly, stencil work, which is practical for its rapid application, assuming all these pieces were cut, prepped readied and rolled prior to getting out, you could effectively place alot of work in a short period of time.

Lets hope that Gustav changes its direction and category, well before it hits the US mainland..good to see that an evacuation is taking place.
Cant imagine how the people are feeling right now with this looming.

while it's nice to see more Banksy stuff and more hanging klansmen, he is 18 years late on that image.

Banksy works in New Orleans - PHOTOS, by Guy Denning on Sept 1, 2008 22:18:59 GMT 1, Yeah... well I wouldn't remember a deck. Apart from the first and only ever skateboard I stood on. B@stard thing nearly killed me from the start... All my mates were going on non-stop for the next few years about 'kryptonics' or something. Bl00dy 1970's kid's death-dealing ยฃ5 voodoo machine... Airguns and BB pistols were much safer toys for nippers in deepest Somerset. This was the nearest looking thing I could find to the yellow lego hell-deck online:
www.calstreets.com/site/images/Volume6%20SkateIndNews%20Vintage1978/images/skateboard_industry_news_febmarch_1978_magnum_sizzle_mattel.jpg
But even that looks too well made. Plastic death ride from hell... Anyway - point taken but the BANKSY piece is still a winner on a wall.

haha. i still have a skateboard leaning up against the wall and every so often it tries to tempt me into using it again. somehow concrete has gotten harder over the years...
wasn't sure if people would know about those skate graphics or not. wonder if Banksy even knows about them? anyway, there were loads of cool graphics back in the late 80's to mid-90's that could make for fine source material. whether you prefer skateboards or bb guns or just like looking at pictures, Sean Cliver's book "Disposable" is well worth flipping through.

So the concept for the KKK image can't be 100% credited to Mr B?
