Banksy splashed with paint - Park Street, Bristol, by Daniel Silk on Jun 23, 2009 12:41:10 GMT 1, Its gonna be interesting to see what happens next
Will the council clean and repair it? Will it get totally messed up, and then cleaned off? Will they get Banksy in to do a new piece?

I'm all for pieces not lasting forever. BUT at least attempt something better or at least have the bollocks to dog it with your tag so we all can know which jealous little toy hater you are.
Don't hide behind a paintball gun

Why do you let this type of vandalism upset you. although i have no time for the likes of 10foot and that cretin Tox, I can understand the overwhelming compulsion that some people have to destroy. ITS FUN. FUN FUN

Banksy splashed with paint - Park Street, Bristol, by mbv on Jun 23, 2009 14:51:59 GMT 1, I think that the City Council should do everything possible to try and restore this work. It is now an important part of Bristol's cutural and tourism offer, bringing visitors and jobs to the city.
Destruction of other people's creativity is just mindless.

There has been a great deal of debate regarding the restoration of the Sistine chapel. The wonderfully muted colours have been left garish and all passages of time have been removed and a very important part of an art works history is now thought to have be lost by this restoration work. Lets not be sentimental over what is after all only a bit of coloured mud thrown up on a wall( the banksy not the paintball marks) leave the banksy alone. the paintball ''Damage'' only adds to its cultural history.

I'm not the least upset. Personally I would prefer Tox or 10ft than random blue splashes.
So lazy and apathetic that they couldn't even bother to obtain & climb a ladder!!

Banksy splashed with paint - Park Street, Bristol, by mbv on Jun 24, 2009 8:59:38 GMT 1, Mild Mild West taken out with blue paintball last night. People (PRSC?) already taking a look at it this morning. I still believe that we should at leat try and clean up these pieces of work. They are part of what makes Bristol a special place, rather than the grinding blandness of most of corporate Britain.

Banksy splashed with paint - Park Street, Bristol, by gwenie on Jun 24, 2009 10:14:21 GMT 1, I don't live in Bristol, and I can understand that these works bring tourism, and the positive effects / job prospects.
However, it is graff, not a 'mural' and that is what I like, so it will always get bombed. At least it has been enjoyed for 3 years.
