I just thought some of you might like to have a look at this little piece of Banksy history.
I have been a bit cheeky with the title of this post, but like to keep people on their toes!
The band 'Dirty Funker' have just released a new 12" which is a 2008 remix of their 'Future' release. The artwork, as you may have realised has been produced by Banksy, with the cover having Mr Radar Rat pointing his device to the left. With the same celebrity rodent on the reverse pointing in the opposite direction.
The album has been printed off-set litho, but because it uses only two 'special' colours, black and red, the finished artwork looks like it could have been screen printed (well that's my opinion anyway)!
Soooo, for all you people who can't afford the real thing, why not pop along to 'Hard to find records' (www.htfr.com) and pop in the reference code MR248909 (or do a search for 'Banksy'/'Dirty Funker Future') and I think you will find this item. And as mentioned in the title they ARE available for £6.99!!!!

It would be great to get your opinions on this... is it a good purchase (as an original has a rather steep price tag!)? Or are your eyes glazing over as we speak, bored with commercialy released banksy's?

Time to pop to local record shop in search of the other colours.....

I do have a bit more information if anyone is interested...?
When I got the heads up on these 12" I actually contacted the record company to get a bit more information. And now that Alsbabar has mentioned the ebay auction for the three versions (of which I am the highest bidder at the moment ahhhh... which i don't think will last for long hehe now!) I might as well divulge everything. Let the bun fight commence in earnest...
The record company in several emails said:
i. 'the grey and white wont be commercially released, theres going to be a very few brown available via: www.htfr.com/more-info/MR248909
its avaialble on vinyl for 7 days then deleted
ii. 'theres around 300 of each colour'
I think that's all the garbled knowledge I have amassed on this one. Purchase well!
Oh, and Alsbabar, I wasn't being angry or annoyed above when I mentioned your post highlighting the three versions for auction on ebay. You know how it is, I was hoping to sneak under the 'radar' (pun intended  ) and win the auction for a snip! I will be interested to see how it goes now.
Regarding peoples comments on the stickers, worrying about if the stickers can be removed, if you go to the auction Alsbabar mentioned the guy auctioning them said:
'sticker on front cover states "this sticker is removable", but I have not tampered with them so cant guarentee this will be the case'

Regarding two points mentioned:

If you'll notice on the my original post I read copy and paste the writeup from 'HtFR' which stated:

So in my naive little world I think that is 100% provenance they are sanctioned... or am i missing something? Let me know...

The email I got from the record company stated 'the grey and white wont be commercially released'. I assume they will be sent to DJs and producers, so get down Berwick street and start flicking...
