has to be one of my fav art pieces i have seen...if only i had spare 250k lying around.... no doubt in papers tomorrow with them stating he has re-established himself as one of the number 1 artist of our times... like some of hirst art pieces but some i dont get.... the one above would love to have in the home though! ...s

Can I watch the Hirst auction online, by sahoria on Sept 15, 2008 21:57:48 GMT 1, go half with you and then we can share it 50/50...lol... truthfully when i first saw picture it really did stand out and was thing of beauty... alot of hirst art pieces i dont get what all the excitement is about but some pieces i just really love and have to sit back in amazement this being one of them... i like the fact he uses sculptures in alot of his art pieces.... 3 dimensional aspect of art pieces always love...
to see in person i am sure will be memory alot of people will always keep if they ever are lucky enough to view... concept and execution for that art piece i cannot knock... whoever is lucky enough to own that art piece will be very lucky but think it will go alot more higher than what it is currently estimated for.... even as a print i think would look stunning...s

Mr hirst has 180 people working for him, therefore he never does the art himself, I know Warhol had a team. BUT as mentioned in the guardian Hirst just keeps redoing old ideas and making big bucks which is fair enough! BUT he said this was the last of his dot and butterfly series to go on sale. So what he thought would be an inspired idea is to get someone to produce 4 large dots on a big canvass and but butterflies in the middle of each and thought this would have worthy of a mill or two. Come-on what the hell is going on??? The guys worth a fortune and still doesn't want to give any away to the galleries who made him!!!
Greed is a funny thing, in a small way I'm happy to have brought a small dot series from eyestorm for ยฃ500 and I love looking at it but is he taking the piss??

First lot was two cocktail glasses I Think estimated for around ยฃ80 went for over ยฃ1k, great to be there as saw my first ยฃ1.1m bid, couldn't believe it!!

I certainly went straight online, after seeing the show, and got myself a signed "The Death of God" poster (that I'd been thinking about for a while).
