Dreweatts Art Auctions ๐ฌ๐ง, by stopki on Jul 3, 2012 17:29:57 GMT 1, Curious to what?! a price for a A3 single subject bunny rabbit?! Ive no idea mate give Roa or Dreweatts a shout..... It was only my opinion, i know im no expert, Ive personally not seen any sketches of this size with more than one subject and ive been looking for a long time... Drawings of this size with a single subject ive seen go from 500-700 in the last year on the secondary market, i know because ive been after them, so i would think given the subject is a cute rabbit and theres 3 of them it woudl be worth about a grand... Shoot me down if you wish, its what i think and id have been happy to pay 1k....... Glad we agree warsawproject ;-) That one won't come back on the market any time soon believe me, will be right next my BLU, Elbow Toe (print) and DRAN drawings... all B&W... can't wait !
sounds nice...

Dreweatts Art Auctions ๐ฌ๐ง, by popmozz on Jul 3, 2012 21:17:54 GMT 1, Bidding on a few pieces and did not fetch one. I had no time for stepping by and always hard to bid on stuff not seen in the flesh. But I should have gone higher on the Insect on cardboard, it is a stunner. Congratulation to whomever getting it. Crazy Moona... Swoon great, Herakut great.

The Insect was indeed stunning but also huge - an entire wall would be needed and hanging it would require a specialist as it is super heavy!!
Bast/Faile collab - by far the sexiest piece

Dreweatts Art Auctions ๐ฌ๐ง, by craigf on Jul 4, 2012 9:00:35 GMT 1, Funny auction yesterday. I had been really looking forward to it before the catalogue came out, was then disappointed when I saw what was being sold and when I trotted up yesterday that feeling got greater.
The sale itself started well with the Schoony piece, but never really got going and as soon as it hit the LA2 pieces it bombed with lot after lot being passed over. There were just too many LA2, subeway map pieces in my opinion for the audience and a general lack of quality.
I stayed because I'd made the effort and had a few pieces in mind:
Banksy canvas - wouldn't have paid anywhere near this amount, but may have been tempted at the lower end of the scale
Parla water colour - I really want one of these, but when I saw it in person it was quite dark and a bit disappointing. I would have paid below low end, which is what some pieces were selling for. It got to ยฃ4k which plus fees made it ยฃ5k and a bit
Ian Francis - I remember this from the original show and was vey unlikely to bid, but wanted to see how it got on
ROA - I would have bid on this lower down in the pricing as his prices have increased considerably of late and this was a nicely executed example of his work. I think the price it went for was good, especially as I have one on the wall already
Blu - was unlikely to bid, but interested in how it got on. It looked much better in person than it did in the catalogue.
Yeo - this was the last lot I stayed for and I had hoped to get this to go with the other one I have already. I would have paid mid estimate, but it went a bit above this
Steals of the show were some of the Neates, the Herakut by the sounds of it although I had left by then and the Paul Insect pieces (the pieces on aluminium were cheap and the cardboard piece stunning, but it had taken five people to get it up stairs and I would have had nowhere big enough to have hung it!

Remember seeing a smaller canvas of just the head and mirror at a Laz group show a couple of years ago. The complete image looks stunning and great on card!

The Neate's were a steal, I love the pizza box - colours were fantastic.
The orange LAII / Haring was in their early 2011 auction, nice piece, isn't ยฃ7,500 a steal? Especially if its officially sold as a collaboration between the artists?

Interesting early Charming Baker OG (lot 85) and a couple of nice Jago's. Estimates on the Basts seem very low.
