Good on Eelus - he is very talented and deserves it. He just made a bit of a mistake with the star wars colourways and never really recovered.

Dreweatts Art Auctions 🇬🇧, by lee3 on Jun 17, 2008 20:27:35 GMT 1, >>>define good though ? <<<
in the context of this auction, personally i would not have made a deal selling anything over $10k with a fee given that this was their first auction and they just wanted good supply. But, I've been critical of this auction since it was first announced given that i had never heard of them before. If you are selling at the big 2 houses, you shouldn't be paying anything if you have something worth over $200k. It's all a negotiation anyway but many sellers probably never even ask. Theoretically, the lower you are willing to go on your estimate, the less in fees you should pay.

Great point on people not thinking to ask Lee. For anyone selling, be it through a gallery on consignment, or an auction house... never be afraid to ask for fee waivers or discounts. It never hurts to ask, and you can lower your reserve for every bit of fees you save to ensure a better chance of selling.

I think alot of the buyers don't sit at home checking ebay prices and are just going on the artistic merit / size / artist. In context it seems a good price.
