Mau Mau "Whack Donald" Print, by mred on Jan 1, 2008 17:52:39 GMT 1, They were ยฃ75 plus p&p - Great print so pleased I managed to get mine direct from SOS and canvas from main man himself.
Some interesting items and prices on the other things they currently have for sale. Obviously done a bit of shopping at SOS before Christmas, they have all the k-guy fag packets for sale as well as both MAu MAu prints. They have small fag packets on sale for ยฃ99 even though not currently flagged as sold out on SOS site where they are on sale for ยฃ55. The large fag packet that is sold out on SOS they have up for ยฃ475 when originally only ยฃ125. Good profit if you can get it!!!
If you look at their website www.whitefineart.co.uk/?p=productsList&iCategory=116 slightly different prices some less some more but all pretty healthy mark up.
For one see them selling much at those prices although all prints very classy and maybe this is sign of prices to come in the future.

It will be interesting to see the other prints SOS will be selling in 2008

Mau Mau "Whack Donald" Print, by mred on Jan 1, 2008 19:12:09 GMT 1, Bombshelter have to beg to differ on both the K-Guy and Mau Mau releases. I personally love, and brought, the trash and religion fag packets from K-Guy and the Wac Ronald print from Mau Mau. All look great in the flesh and once funds allow will be framed and on my wall.
I also loved some off the previous releases like the iNeed print although passed on the Cyclops, Amp and first Scorn prints. May be it is not that the earlier stuff was best just we all have different taste so rate prints differently. Not a bad thing IMHO.

Mau Mau "Whack Donald" Print, by mred on Jan 1, 2008 19:53:27 GMT 1, Bombshelter I note there are some prints where our tastes converge, thinking of the TMA prints. I am still very envious of you for bagging a London version, things did not pan out for me so that was one that got away!!! Happy New Year to you also.

Mau Mau "Whack Donald" Print, by mred on Jan 1, 2008 20:42:28 GMT 1, I would not disagree about it being one of the best, I fell in love with image and as they had to have the canvas as well!!! Greedy I know but two weeks on still makes me smile every time I look at it. I think Wac Ronald could be a classic although only time will tell

Mau Mau "Whack Donald" Print, by mred on Jan 3, 2008 17:02:25 GMT 1, Fair play bombshelter, I look forward to seeing it framed and on your wall. Have you thought about what sort of framing, on Hugs suggestion went for simple white frame for my Bristol TMA and think I will go the same route if I get my hands on any more of Nick's TMAs.
I currently have three prints awaiting to be framed and go on wall, including Wac Ronald, but they might have to wait as just found out about possibility of getting hold of an original that I have had my eye on for about a year and now may be coming available. Nothing definite yet but will let you know if it comes off.

Mau Mau "Whack Donald" Print, by mred on Jan 8, 2008 9:02:22 GMT 1, Thanks Joe J really pleased with this one, As I said on another thread Mau Mau's spray work is awesome and my poor photographs do not highlight the real depth and texture he managed to achieve within the piece.
I know I have only just got it but it has immediately become part of my top 3 pieces and think it will stay there for long time.
Does not seem to be much interest in the ebay prints, may be a little too high or do other people get an uneasy feeling about them. Same photo used for both auctions and description of one just about to end mentions reproduction and Giclee. May be just honest mistakes and a little bit of laziness. Brilliant print in flesh if you get a pukka one.

Mau Mau "Whack Donald" Print, by mred on Jan 8, 2008 18:44:02 GMT 1, Hi bombshelter, wish I found things like that in my old tubes. Great image and you are lucky guy. Are you planning to put it on your wall?
Was up loft yesterday putting away Christmas decorations and saw a roll of old posters, must get them down and have a look through them to see if any gems. Hopefully a few classic punk images but have horrible feeling that memory rosier than reality. Probably just load of naff images riddled with drawing pin holes and bits of blutac. May be something worth framing but either way be a laugh to look through what I had on my wall when I was a teenager ;D ;D ;D ;D

Mau Mau "Whack Donald" Print, by victorwilliams on Jan 8, 2008 23:24:42 GMT 1, I might be stepping on a few peoples toes here but I personal can not see the attract of Mau-Mau work. I've seen his work a fair bit recently, at the 12 days show in bristol his stuff feel way short of the high standard of the show... in my opinion.

Mau Mau "Whack Donald" Print, by mred on Jan 9, 2008 8:50:26 GMT 1, Hi victorwilliams you are not stepping on my toes just expressing an opinion, which I happen to disagree with
I am fairly new to Mau Mau's work and he is the first person I have collected that is purely a free hand artist. I agree his work differs to the more transitional stencil images but to be honest I am starting to appreciate the depth and texture he puts into his work. I also like his images and subject matters, for me they tend to have a laugh or cry feeling and are all thought provoking. Nearly forgot to mention also a total gentleman to deal with.
All to our own, I for one will try and pick up some more work by Mau Mau although I get feeling after LSG show tis might get a bit harder.

Mau Mau "Whack Donald" Print, by kingleopald on Jan 9, 2008 23:51:53 GMT 1, Wasn't overly convinced by his work - used to think it was a bit raw - but have definitely changed my mind. I've seen him work and man can certainly paint without props. I actually thought his stuff at 12 days was some of the best there.
