my new adam neate, by loucastel on Nov 8, 2007 13:28:09 GMT 1, Sorry I must be a real phillistine because it does nothing for me, each to their own my friend. It does look better in person though. to be totally honest I would like to see this piece for real, I do like a lot of neate's work, may not undestand it ,but do like it, Im not taking anything away from you buying it, because I know what its like to buy something you really want, with you all the way on that score (irespective of price), trouble is at the moment im sure a lot of people are only buying certain pieces because they are of the moment, (which im sure and hope isnt the case with you) and neither comprehend or particularly like, but because it is an up and coming artist and to spend a lot of wonga purely for the kudos, and im speaking generally now, Im sure i will be carrying my nads around in a sling for the next week or two, but its great that you are so pleased with it ,and I hope it brings you a lot of pleasure in the years to come, which im sure it will, Enjoy and stay happy (but it still does nothing for me ,,,,yet)

my new adam neate, by verbalkint on Nov 9, 2007 2:33:58 GMT 1, adam told me that this piece is jean charles de menezes going into the underground before getting shot. He didnt want to make it too obvious as not to upset the family. The more i look at it, the more i love it, but harveyn, it is not going to be hung till the new year. Im moving to my new apartment in london and will hang it there. I have an ian francis original on the way too, but i have no idea what it looks like as it was a commission and i gave him the freedom to do whatever the fuck he wanted, as long as it had colour, i love the way he uses colour, but i am really exited about that. If i could i would have commissioned 5 francis pieces
Im also on the list for a frank auerbach original. His stuff just blows my mind. It blows your wallet too, but auerbach is one of those artists who will always be well respected, you never lose money on a painting like that.
I cannot wait to get moved in and everything hung, i will be visiting my framer man for the prints i want doing and have my own little duplex art gallery!

my new adam neate, by verbalkint on Nov 9, 2007 13:43:49 GMT 1, im on their waiting list for a specific type of painting, cheers pezlow.
Have they got some in then? I thought that was just the galleries archeive, when i called them they had loads of the etchings but no paintings at all, they said he does about 2 or 3 per year. He paints something, scrapes it off, starts again and does that every day until he gets it perfect, which has taken up to 6 months.
At least you know he put his back into it
