Bloomsbury Auctions ๐ฌ๐ง, by cakeboy on Mar 19, 2008 21:37:45 GMT 1, i think this auction was poorly advertised and was only available on USA ebay not UK ... also there was mass confusion on fees which were high ! this would explain the confusing results .

Bloomsbury Auctions ๐ฌ๐ง, by pw on Mar 19, 2008 23:57:20 GMT 1, dont forget the 22.5% buyers premium. not so many bargains when thats included.
overall i think the results show that the bloomsbury isnt a major auction house and it isnt the best place to sell your prints. results have always been a bit hit and miss.

Although I love Micallef's art, I always believed NOUM was one of his weakest pieces of work.

As far as I'm aware people thought it (and the other unsigned print that was bid up massively) to be signed...
An expensive mistake

Bloomsbury Auctions ๐ฌ๐ง, by pezlow on Mar 20, 2008 10:57:31 GMT 1, All in all quite mixed results. The auction received very little publicity on here or elsewhere. I only heard about because I got a catalogue through the post from bloomsbury.
What is clear though from it is that the general market is going to see Banksy prints as being all about the image, not the perceived rareity. Flying copper made ยฃ6k because it is a fantastic image and is HUGE. Like happy choppers and LIITA did well because they are very recognisably banksy images.
The ones that didn't do so well - Golf Sale, MQ, Turf war are perhaps just not such desirable images to the general market, even though hard core banksy collectors consider them to be desirable because of their rarity value.
