It looks like an optical illusion of which side the deers skeleton is to the girls leg!
Easily my favorite piece and looks like a lot of work went into creating that image!

Yeah it's supposed to be like that, it just adds to the over all weirdness of the image. She's stepping through the deer, almost gyrating against it. So they're intertwined, locked together, physically linked and joined at the hip
