Hardly any unsigned sold I think, I just put one in my basket to see what number came up (16) so does that mean they've sold 15?

New Invader up at POW!, by dundun on Aug 2, 2007 21:10:04 GMT 1, I think this is a very shady business practice. They are selling the higher numbers first and the lower numbers are the ones being added to the site in sets of ten. I bought #107 and ten minutes later #'s 40-60 were sold on the site. I emailed and asked for a refund, cuz I don't like dishonest biz tactics. I don't think this is due to carts being emptied. If so why are they appearing in sets of ten? It's a calculated move on POW's part.

New Invader up at POW!, by Ron Goldsurfer on Aug 2, 2007 21:22:26 GMT 1, I have checked a couple of times and the serial numbers has been rising all the time, the last time it was 13 available and I put a number 118 in my cart, the time before that the number was 87. I think the system to put out the prints in blocks, if thats true, sucks. Even if I got happy after a couple of refreshings to be able to buy one when I first thought it was sold out.

New Invader up at POW!, by themightyreds on Aug 2, 2007 21:43:11 GMT 1, Surely the print number isn't an issue if you love the print right? & i can't imagine PoW would cook up a system that puts up various issue numbers at different times as some kind of cunning ploy to boost sales - would be more hassle than its worth, especially for a print thats only going to be available for a day or two. I got a signed one and was just happy to get one i'd been waiting for.
If only buying the Banksy prints was so easy....!

I agree about the print numbers, I donยดt care what number I get ยดcause I am by profession aware how numbering gets done. But coming to the site and as in my case see the edition SOLD OUT and by some refreshings see that there is one print available, that is really to boost up my willingness to buy. And a couple of minutes later the page says suddenly that there is a lot of prints available. I think that is a bit dodgy and that POW should do something about it.
But what the hell, now I am aware of it and I think I can live with it cause I got what I wanted.

i think its a good move, it stops alot of things. One of them being people that hold them in baskets for their mates etc or sit on them to see if they sell out. If they do spontaneous releases - people will give up waiting as they never know how many more there is. Thats probably why the numbering system has sort of gone to a certain extent as well. It also stops people bagging them if they know they are sold out - as sold out always means there is more interest if they flip it down the line.
I bet there will be a few bagged with people thinking they are sold out then they release more and they dont sell. I would love to see that persons face, means they will probably lose money - there is still 17 of these invader prints left (signed) which means everyone who wants one got one - including the baggers although the baggers will be a bit more sweaty as they wont make as much as they thought. Maybe their bus fare home...
thats a rant - hope it made sense
peace

baggers have no interest in art and sell for profit
flippers have interest in art - have some - and flip to get what they want

Mistakes will happen. Why are we slagging off POW. If thats the case what about BT (Worst customer service on the planet - + a right ripoff) BR - In my case Midland Mainline (Overpriced delayed bollox) The london underground (Overcrowded tubes that have a habit of breaking down) The council - For raising council tax and for what? The Police (for shooting that Brazilian bloke) ....
If you have a problem with POW why not contact them instead of slating them here.

Just discussing the numbering system, along with many other people here. It's not perfect. The buying system isn't perfect. Not dissing them, just pointing it out.
It's a shame, but it won't stop any of you print monkeys wearing out your F5 key at the thought of a new print coming online
