Micallef Lithographs, by dave313perry on Sept 17, 2007 20:50:14 GMT 1,
in answer....
Expense is supply and demand - people will pay and they are worth it on the secondary market, Laz is no charity but a business
Edition size means more people can have the image on the wall
They will sell out for sure - i would say very quickly
How do you define going up in value? 1 years time 100 years time? at some point they will no doubt
Peacekeeper is cool! Banksy release is taking the piss!

Micallef Lithographs, by johnerotten on Sept 17, 2007 20:52:35 GMT 1, well i mean will they slowly go up in price or triple overnight like that binksy guy?
when were the angel bombers released?
what price?
what are they going for now?
Didn't these go up quickly?
I just can't afford to lose money on a $2k purchase.
Plus i would probably trade/swap/sell for a banksy i like.

Micallef Lithographs, by johnerotten on Sept 17, 2007 21:11:19 GMT 1, get a second job to afford the secondary market prices for a Banksy?
Supply and demand. Free Market. If i'm wrong to buy and sell for profit then why should i support the secondary market for Banksy?
kind of hypocritical? lets not delude ourselves the whole thing stinks. its not only about love of art unfortunately, but a business.
By that rationale then anyone who doesn't want their signed jack and jill should sell it for what they paid for it.
Same with Mickey Mantle baseball cards, and Superman #1 comic book.
I'm not dissing you, but i think there are some people on here who are very anti flipper who flip themselves.
whatever. it all sucks. print 10,000 J&J and Grin Reapers and i'll buy one of each for a couple hundred and be happy. FUCK IT.

Micallef Lithographs, by sausageboonwee on Sept 17, 2007 21:43:57 GMT 1, There is a lot of hypocrisy on this site. There are many members who slag-off other people for flipping then a month or so later 'kindly' offer a piece to forum members for twice it's original price. I think the big dividing point is the speed that people flip. There seems to be an unwritten rule of what is or isn't acceptable. Art has always been a commodity and always will be. I'm not saying it's right or wrong - it's just the way it is.

Micallef Lithographs, by Gatsby on Sept 17, 2007 22:11:51 GMT 1, Ok guys, despite all the negativity out there, I personally love this style of Micallef's work...He has a few different styles, something for everyone perhaps, but these are right up my ally!! I know there isn't much development but there is alittle evolution and i still really love them. No one criticised D*face for using the DSTQ image for major canvases in consecutive shows....just a thought!!
if i were to scrape together enough pocket money to buy one, which do you think i should get...and more importantly, what time do i need to get to Laz Inc to not miss out?!!!!!

I don't really want to get into a debate, or start a big argument so I shall only say this once!
I believe there is a big difference between flipping (buying purely for profit, selling before you even have it, selling the same day) and re-sale (selling at a later to make space for more art, selling to purchase another piece of art at a later date)
people on here don't get upset at people who for a variety of reasons have to re-sell even the most popular pieces - what rubs people up the wrong way is people coming on here the day after is has sold out on the primary market or even at a later date and trying to flog it for double or triple what they paid for it, and making out like they are doing everyone a favour.
just my opinion and not aimed at anyone.
thanks
CR
oh and by the way - this is my fave one at the moment and I hope Pow release it as a print!

Micallef Lithographs, by JD on Sept 17, 2007 22:24:09 GMT 1, Ok guys, despite all the negativity out there, I personally love this style of Micallef's work...He has a few different styles, something for everyone perhaps, but these are right up my ally!!
Why would you need someone elses opinion on which one to get? Get the one YOU like

Micallef Lithographs, by CR on Sept 17, 2007 22:32:23 GMT 1, this picture and others like it is why I respect AM work so much.
he won't please everyone with his entire body of work, but for the the charcol work is amazing!
I just hope this is POWs intention and that I manage to get one.
CR
p.s. if anyone manages to get a POW print when they release them, but decide they don't like it!! then I would love a chance to buy it.
at cost of course.......
