BONGO KNOW THAT MANY PEOPLE WOULD NOT USE EBAY IN DISTASTE FOR THE MEDIUM ITSELF
SELF SAME PEOPLE GO TO GALLERY FOR THE EXPERIENCE
WHY BUY FORM EBAY AND GET A TUBE THROUGH THE POST, WHEN YOU CAN MAKE A SOCIAL EVENT OUT OF THE PURCHASE. IF MONEY IS NOT REALLY THE ISSUE

andipa, by craigf on Mar 2, 2008 9:58:10 GMT 1, Quick update from my visit yesterday. On the prints side unsurprisingly the coloured trollies is unsold at £8k, Radar Rat and CWSB actually looked cheap at £25k each in comparison to the other signed prints on offer, which other than the LA prints at £9k seemed to be £20k a pop. This was the first time I had seen a RR framed without a mount, it is very very small indeed!
Quite a few prints seemed to have gone plus one or two six figure originals had also been snapped up

So were CND, J&J & GR at £20k then?

andipa, by eddiedangerous on Mar 2, 2008 11:56:09 GMT 1, you have to bare in mind that the vendor, on a 20k sale through Andipa will probably only walk away with about 12k, which in turn massively magnifies the asking price way above market value.
when i was first there an elderly local boy parked up his range rover right outside and ran in expecting to pick up a canvas for 30k, I told him he was about 8 months late, and he should pick up a few prints for that money. i asked him if he had tried ebay, he asked me "whats that". he looked frantic, knew nothing about banksy or "urban art" but someone had obviously told him to invest. and with the "property market the way it is" it looked like he was prepared to take this calculated risk with 30 large. i guess that is mainly the market for andipa prices!

andipa, by Mrs Mouse on Mar 3, 2008 10:50:53 GMT 1, I was there on Saturday afternoon (1st March) and it was so busy it was really difficult to see anything. You couldn't really stand and look at pictures because the place was so small you had to keep walking in single file and if you stopped the people behind got held up. It was a bit like being on a conveyor belt. Most people seemed to just be happy to walk past with a quick glance. I got in everyones way trying to take pictures. ;D I managed to get down most of the prices, but I think I missed a few as it was just too crowded to get near and read the price.
Heavy Weaponry stencil and spraypaint on wall -£65,000 Riot Green - £185,000 SOLD Precision Bombing - £75,000 SOLD CCTV Camera Road Sign - £100,000 Sharks - Price on request Lock picking rat - Not for sale Roadwork rat - £100,000 SOLD Bomb Middle England - Price on request Happy Choppers - £250,000 Gangsta rat (news stand) - Not for sale Lenin on rollerblades - £125,000 Paranood pictures - £65,000 SOLD Grenade - £28,000 SOLD Riot cop - £75,000 Pooh bear - £140,000 Every time I make love to you - £160,000 Rat with drill - £100,000 Kate - Price on request The key to composition - £65,000 Gangsta rat on plywood - Not for sale Kids on guns - £100,000 Horse on steel - £125,000 Rat stencil - Not for sale Heavy Weaponry - £75,000
My daughter spotted a member of Westlife coming in just as we were leaving. (She's not sure which one it was as she's not a big fan of Westlife!) Looks like Banksy's fame has spread as far as the world of the boy band! Shame!
