I would have not a single problem with that, the difference between an og and print is so huge, that the owner ofhe og has always the best, very best,pick. Besides that, I'd bekinda flattered as the artist apparantely also thinks that particular image is a very nice example of is work..

Making another og (perfect copy) is a wole other story, As you as a buyer sould kow the edition size of the editionou buy on forehand

In my opinion, no.
As long as the original is not replicated for the purpose of it being claimed to be an original again, the production of prints matching an OG is fine in my eyes.

Am I wrong in thinking it odd to give 56x56 initially(obviously TOTAL size if you place the four prints in a square)?

thats indeed weird! didnt notice it.. I would never display these 2 x 2, i'd prefer it to be 28 x 112

Already put out numerous time that I don't think it's right to offset an orignal artwork into a print (not regarding ownership of the OG)... This practice seems to have been normalized these days.
Artist not only used to make prints for cash but for the art as well... Nowadays, it's just about milking the cow unfortunately (which I'm fine with too).
