RedHouse Originals is delighted to present 'We Are Pop' at the John Mackie Gallery, Harrogate. Our Summer exhibition will be a celebration of imagery taken from and inspired by Popular Culture, which has resulted in an astounding collection of works documenting the impact of 'Pop' and how artists have responded to this cultural phenomenon.

'We Are Pop' will feature paintings, prints and sculpture by some of the finest artists working across the Pop and Urban genres, tracing the line from Warhol to Walker, and we are particularly excited to be featuring brand new paintings on canvas from Charles Lutz, Neverwork, Rourke Van Dal, Replete and Ezra, selected images of which will follow shortly.

The preview for the show will be held at the John Mackie Gallery on Friday 17th July from 7pm where we will be joined by Dudley Edwards, co-founder of pioneering Pop Art collective BEV. We are honoured that Dudley will be joining us for the opening of the show and available on the evening will be signed 'Summer Of Love' poster prints, featuring the 'Magic Piano' Dudley painted for Paul McCartney in 1967. The posters are priced at £35 with all profits going to the NSPCC. Summer Of Love, Douglas Binder & Dudley Edwards

Dudley went onto work with Michael McInnerney, as OM Tentacle, where he continued to break new ground employing masterly techniques across a multitude of medias. The majority of the street works at the time were airbrushed freehand.

Yep it was a good show with a lot of people attending despite the downpours.

This new one of mine entitled "To Meet In The Midst Of The Melt Channels" is entirely done in spraypaint on a thick foundation of acrylic and I tried a loads of new techniques including a blurring effect that I think works well to get a feeling of movement of the melt waters in the title.
